You can serve this as a sauce for any number of dishes or as an appetizer dip! I hope you’ll enjoy this horseradish cream sauce as much as we do!
How do I make this low carb horseradish cream sauce?
This is a quick and easy sauce to make! You’ll need two mixing bowls to make it. To your first bowl, you’ll add your heavy whipping cream. You’ll beat the heavy whipping cream until medium peaks form. Medium peaks mean when you remove your beaters, they form peaks which hold their shape a bit, but the tips curl down and don’t hold their shape. You’ll set this aside. Then to your second bowl, you’ll add all remaining ingredients and stir to combine them. You can also use a whisk to combine your ingredients. The last step is to add the whipped cream to the sour cream horseradish mixture. I like to use a rubber spatula and fold the whipped cream in. This helps to keep the sauce light and airy. You can serve this sauce right away or you can refrigerate it until you’re ready to serve it.
Why would I want to make my own sauces?
There are a few great reasons for making homemade sauces. First, homemade sauces are so fresh and delicious! Next, when you make your own sauces, you’ll know exactly what goes into them and you can avoid unwanted ingredients often added to pre-made sauces. This can also help keep the carb count down in your sauces. Another great reason to make your own sauces is that you can substitute ingredients and amounts of ingredients for your convenience and to suit your taste preferences. For this horseradish sauce, you could add even more horseradish if you’d like. You can substitute dried parsley for the fresh. If so, you’ll want to use 2 teaspoons of dried in place of the 2 tablespoons of fresh. You could also use any mustard you’d like in place of the Dijon. Give your sauce a taste and you can add more salt and pepper if you’d like.
What are some ways I can serve this low carb horseradish cream sauce?
You have some awesome options for serving this sauce. It pairs well with any kind of meat including beef, chicken, pork, seafood, and turkey. Your roasts will be extra special when served with a side of this sauce. You can serve this with grilled meats, and it makes a great addition to a nice steak or prime rib. It can be served as a topping for burgers, brats, keto sandwiches, or lettuce wraps. You could even serve it alongside keto casseroles, or with eggs and egg casseroles. Drizzle a little of this sauce over some cooked vegetables to make an extra special side! As an appetizer dip, this horseradish cream sauce can be served with raw vegetables or with cheese whisps, keto crackers, or pork rinds. It would also make an amazing addition to a charcuterie board or a cheese and meat tray.
