You’ll get rave reviews every time you serve this easy keto chive dip! I am always on a mission to use up all the food I buy. So when I made shrimp salad with chives, I had some extra fresh chives to use up. I wavered between making a veggie dip and making a vinaigrette with them. The dip won! My family and I love this dip and I hope you and yours will too!
Let’s talk about keto appetizer dips!
I love making appetizer dips both hot and cold ones. One of my favorites is making flavorful and low carb veggie dips. There are some great reasons for making your own vegetable dips. When you make your own dips, you can be assured there are only ingredients you want in them and that there are no added ingredients you don’t want. Some common ingredients added to premade mixes include artificial colorings and flavorings, corn starch, maltodextrin, msg, potato starch, sugar, and wheat flour. Making your own dips is quick and easy to do and it’s a money savor as well. One of the best reasons for making your own dips is that you can adjust ingredients and amounts of ingredients to suit your taste preferences. You can make you dips mild or spicy and can control the saltiness and sweetness level as well.
What ingredients go into this easy keto chive dip?
This dip is amazingly creamy and flavorful, and it’s quick and easy to make. For our creamy base, we combine sour cream and keto mayonnaise. When making dips, I often combine equal amounts of mayonnaise and sour cream; but for this dip I used 1 cup of sour cream and ½ cup keto mayonnaise. When buying mayonnaise, you’ll want to make sure there is no added sugar or oils you don’t want. To our sour cream and mayonnaise, we add fresh chopped chives, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. I love using fresh herbs whenever possible, and the fresh chopped chives in this dip add amazing flavor. If you’d like to substitute with dried chives, you’ll want to use about 4 teaspoons of dried chives in place of the ¼ cup of fresh chives. You can give your dip a taste a add more salt if you’d like.
How can I serve this easy keto chive dip?
You have some awesome low carb options for serving this dip! Using raw vegetables for dippers is a delicious option. Some great low carb choices include broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cherry or grape tomatoes, cucumbers, mushrooms, radishes, and sliced bell peppers. You can also use cheese whisps, keto crackers, and pork rinds for dippers. Another fun option is to use sliced cheese as your dippers. Meats such as pepperoni, salami, and other sausages are fun choices as well. This dip can also be used as a topping for burgers, keto sandwiches, or lettuce wraps. You can also use it as a dipping sauce for meats or for keto chicken nuggets. If you’d like to use it as a salad dressing, you can simply add a little heavy whipping cream to thin it out a bit.
