Keto chipotle ranch dip is rich and creamy and has a nice kick of spice! It can also be served as an amazing salad dressing!
I love making my family delicious appetizers and appetizer dips, and this keto chipotle ranch dip was a big hit at my house! We combine a homemade ranch seasoning mix with just a few simple, but awesome ingredients to make this dip. Then a little chipotle chili powder adds the perfect spice level! Enjoy!
Let’s talk about our homemade ranch seasoning!
There are some wonderful reasons for making your own seasoning mixes. First, it’s quick and easy to do and the mixes are delicious. It’s also a nice money saver. Next, when you make your own seasoning mixes, you’ll know exactly what goes into them and can avoid unwanted ingredients often added to premade mixes. Some of these include maltodextrin, MSG, dextrose, and artificial colors and flavors, just to name a few. Last, when you make your own, you can adjust the ingredients to your liking. For our ranch seasoning, we combine parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, chives, dill, salt, and pepper. You can also double, triple, or even make a big batch of this seasoning mix. To make a big batch you’ll combine the following: ¾ cup parsley, ¼ cup garlic and onion powder, 2 tablespoons chives and dill, and 1 tablespoon salt and pepper.
What other ingredients go into this keto chipotle ranch dip?
You get a bonus recipe with this dip, homemade keto “buttermilk.” Since regular milk contains so many carbs, we’re making our buttermilk with heavy whipping cream. To make this, you simply add your heavy whipping cream to the bowl you’ll be making your dip in, then add a little white vinegar. Alternately, you can also use lemon juice instead of vinegar if you’d like. Then just let this mixture set for 5 minutes and you have keto buttermilk! To finish the creamy base for this dip, we add keto mayonnaise and sour cream. We then add our homemade ranch seasoning which gives this dip amazing flavor. To add a spicy kick to this dip, I added 2 teaspoons of chipotle chili powder to mine. You can add more or less depending upon how spicy you want your dip to be!
How can I serve my keto chipotle ranch dip?
You have some awesome low carb options for serving this dip! My family has some wonderful traditions for holidays and special occasion meals. Although I made a variety of appetizers, we have to have raw veggies and dip! Some great low carb vegetable options include broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cherry or grape tomatoes, cucumbers, mushrooms, radishes, and sliced bell peppers. But you have some other great options to use as dippers. You can use cheese whisps, keto crackers, pork rinds, or even sliced cheese or meats such as pepperoni or sliced sausage. You can also serve this dip as a topping for burgers and keto sandwiches. Another option is to use this dip as a salad dressing. As it sets in the fridge, it will thicken up. If it becomes too thick to pour as a dressing, you can simply add a little heavy whipping cream.
