This Carolina gold keto coleslaw is amazingly delicious and amazingly beautiful to serve! I came up with a homemade Carolina gold keto barbecue sauce and loved it so much, I knew I wanted to find some fun ways to use it. Since we all love coleslaw, I thought that would be a great start. I hope you’ll enjoy this salad as much as we do!
Let’s talk about our coleslaw mix!
There are so many things I love about cooking and making dishes. I love planning, prepping, and the all the steps involved in actually making dishes. So for coleslaw I often make my own mix. When you make your own, you can decide exactly how much green and red cabbage you add. You can also choose to add some grated carrots or to leave them out completely. But for this coleslaw, I used a bag of coleslaw mix. It’s a quick and easy option that really comes in handy. And although I don’t typically add carrots to dishes, the amount added to coleslaw mixes is small, so the carb count remains low. I didn’t add anything other than dressing to my coleslaw, but if you’d like you can add some diced bell peppers or onions to yours if you’d like!
How do I make the dressing for this Carolina gold keto coleslaw?
I’m so excited to share this dressing with you! This dressing contains just 3 ingredients, but it has such a great depth of flavor! We start with homemade keto Carolina gold bbq sauce. I absolutely love this sauce and whenever I run out, I instantly make a new batch! And this sauce comes together in just 15 minutes with ingredients you likely have on hand in your pantry. We combine yellow mustard, keto brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, keto maple syrup, tamari, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and smoked paprika to make this barbecue sauce. Then we simmer the sauce for 5 minutes and it’s done! To complete the dressing for this coleslaw, we simply combine some of this barbecue sauce with keto mayonnaise and celery seed! This creates an amazingly flavorful dressing that is also the most amazing golden yellow color!
