These chocolate chaffles are incredibly decadent and incredibly low carb! I think you’ll want to make these often!
These chocolate chaffles are awesomely delicious! With just 6 ingredients, and in under 20 minutes, you can make these wonderful chaffles. There are so many chaffle options, both of the savory and sweet variety; and these sweet chaffles rock! They were approved by my chocolate loving son, Isaac. I consider this to be the highest level of approval!😊
Let’s talk about the ingredients used to make these chocolate chaffles!
Basic chaffles contain just two ingredients, an egg and shredded cheese. In order to make these more dessert-like, I’ve added a few additional ingredients. The almond flour adds to the texture of the chaffles. The cocoa powder gives them their deep and rich chocolate flavor. My preferred cocoa powder is the Rodelle brand, but you can use any cocoa powder you’d like. Next, I added Swerve powdered sugar. This sugar contains zero calories and zero net carbs. It’s also delicious! A touch of baking powder helps to give volume to these chaffles. I chose mozzarella cheese for these chaffles because it is a mild tasting cheese which works perfectly in this recipe!
What kind of waffle maker did you use to make these chaffles?
My favorite waffle maker by far is the Dash mini maker. The mini maker produces the perfect size chaffle. It is incredibly easy to use and to clean. Dash makes a variety of mini waffle makers. I used the Christmas version which has regular waffle grates for the top of the waffle maker and has a snowflake design for the bottom. The regular Dash mini maker has waffle grates on both the top and bottom. You can use a regular size waffle maker if you’d like. The batter for this recipe will make 1 regular size chaffle. You can also divide the batter in half to make two chaffles. Just know you may have irregular size chaffles as half the batter won’t cover the entire surface of a regular waffle maker.
How can I serve these chocolate chaffles?
These chaffles are awesome all by themselves. They make for a great breakfast, snack, or dessert option. I topped mine with some keto whipped cream and some keto chocolate chips. It is so amazingly easy to make your own keto whipped cream. If you have time, chill your mixing bowl and beaters in the freezer 15-20 minutes prior to use. Then, in your chilled bowl, combine 1 cup of heavy whipping cream with 2 tablespoons of keto powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Beat with your electric mixer until stiff peaks form. This will take between 3-5 minutes. I used Lily’s chocolate chips to top my chaffles. You can use any keto chocolate chips you’d like! I hope you enjoy these sweet chocolate chaffles!
