Take your dessert to a whole new level with this awesome keto avocado chocolate mousse! This mousse is incredibly creamy and amazingly delicious!
This keto avocado chocolate mousse is simply divine! You can’t taste the avocado; but it helps to create a uniquely and wonderfully creamy texture. When my son, Isaac, tried this mousse, his response was a simple, “Wow!” I hope you love it too!
Let’s talk about the ingredients in this keto avocado chocolate mousse!
This mousse contains only 7 ingredients and takes just 15 minutes to make. But you’ll be amazed at how rich and decadent this dessert is! We start with cream cheese which adds awesome taste and texture to this mousse. The avocado is the silent star of this dish. You can’t taste the avocado, but it brings incredible creaminess! Next, we add keto powdered sugar. I used the Swerve brand. It contains zero calories and zero net carbs. It’s also delicious!
Our chocolate flavor comes from unsweetened cocoa powder. Ever since I first tasted the cocoa powder from Rodelle, it’s been my go-to brand! You can use any unsweetened cocoa powder you’d prefer. I think a pinch of salt is just the right amount for this dish! Heavy whipping cream is added to give this mousse the perfect consistency and texture. The last ingredient we add is vanilla extract. It adds incredible taste to this mousse.
Do you have any tips for making this keto avocado chocolate mousse?
This is a quick and easy dessert to make, but there are a few things you can do to ensure it always turns out perfectly. First, make sure your cream cheese is softened before using. This will keep your mixture from having lumps of cream cheese. Next, when you beat your cream cheese and avocado together, beat until well combined and until your mixture is smooth and creamy. I recommend sifting your cocoa powder to ensure you don’t get little lumps of it in your mousse. Last, after adding your heavy whipping cream, you’ll want to beat the mixture for 2-3 minutes, or until your mousse is smooth and thickened. This mousse is excellent as is. If you’d like, you can also garnish with some keto whipping cream and grated keto chocolate!
How do I make my own keto whipping cream?
You’ll be amazed at how easy it is to make your own keto whipping cream; and it is so delicious, you’ll never want it any other way! Simply chill your mixing bowl and beaters in the freezer for 15-20 minutes prior to using. Then combine 1 cup of heavy whipping cream with 2 tablespoons of keto powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Beat until stiff peaks form and enjoy! If you’d like to play with the recipe, you can use different extract flavors!

Excited to make this ! Do you use 1 cup whipping cream for the recipe, and one cup for topping?

Hi Lori! I’m excited for you to try it! You add 2 cups of heavy whipping cream to make the mousse. There’s a quick and easy recipe for making your own keto whipped cream if you scroll up a bit. Enjoy!

Thank you! I figured that might be the case as I was making it.
Everyone (from 3yrs old to 85) loved it, even those who dislike avocados. I used monk sugar for the sweetener & 3 medium sized avocados. I served it in 18 mini dessert glasses. I did tweak it adding in a bit more cocoa & sweetener due to extra avocado. Still turned out delicious! Keeper recipe for sure!
