This low carb Buffalo chicken cheese ball is a fun and delicious appetizer! This will be a huge hit every time you serve it!
Take your cheese ball to a whole new level with this low carb Buffalo chicken cheese ball! There is just something comforting about cheese balls. And they’re always one of the first to go at get togethers. We love Buffalo hot wings and Buffalo chicken dip, so I thought I’d combine the two and make a cheese ball. I hope you’ll love this cheese ball as much as we do!
Let’s talk about the ingredients in our cheeseball!
We start with mixing cream cheese, Frank’s Red Hot Buffalo Wings Sauce, sour cream, tamari, garlic powder, and onion powder. The cream cheese and sour cream give our cheese ball an incredible creamy texture. We love the heat level and taste of Frank’s Buffalo Sauce, but you can use a different Buffalo sauce if you’d like. For the chicken, I used cooked chopped chicken breast for my cheese ball. If you’d like, you could use rotisserie chicken as well. Sharp cheddar cheese is amazing in this cheese ball, but mild or medium would work great too. The last ingredient added to our cheese ball is chopped pecans. You can substitute with a different nut if you’d like. If you can’t do nuts, some great options to coat your cheese ball include chopped parsley, chives, green onions, cooked and chopped bacon, or even shredded cheese!
Do you have any tips for making this low carb Buffalo chicken cheese ball?
This is an easy recipe, but there are a few key things you can do to ensure yours will turn out perfect every time! First, you’ll want to make sure your cream cheese is softened before using. Next, you can add more or less hot sauce if you’d like, depending on your heat preference. I highly recommend buying a block of cheese and shredding it yourself. This gives the cheese ball the best texture, and you can be assured there are no added ingredients often found in pre-shredded cheeses. After you roll your mixture into a ball and wrap it in plastic wrap, you’ll want to refrigerate it for at least an hour before rolling it in your pecans. You can also refrigerate your cheese ball overnight or for a couple of days. For best results, you’ll want to roll your cheeseball in the chopped pecans just before serving.
How can I serve this low carb Buffalo chicken cheese ball?
You have some awesome keto options for serving your cheese ball. Serving it with keto vegetables is always a great choice. Some options include bell peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cucumbers, or radishes. You can also use cheese whisps or pork rinds which make for a great crunchy option. If you’d like, you can also serve this cheese ball with your favorite keto crackers or chips.
