This keto ginger turmeric tea is both nutritious and delicious. This soothing tea takes just a handful of ingredients and just 15 minutes to make, so you can enjoy it anytime you’d like!
When you want a comforting and soothing drink, this keto ginger turmeric tea will not disappoint! I made some bone broth and had some extra turmeric root I wanted to put to good use. I also had some ginger root, so I decided to make a tea with them. The result was this delicious and calming tea that took just minutes to make. Enjoy!
Let’s talk about the ingredients in our tea!
The stars of our tea are the fresh ginger and turmeric root. Although I have powdered ginger and turmeric in my pantry, I also love to use fresh ginger and turmeric in certain recipes. I especially love the color fresh turmeric brings to dishes. Both ginger and turmeric have some strong health claims behind them; but I think two of the most impressive are their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. They also add some powerful flavors to dishes. Since ginger can have quite a bite to it, I added some keto granulated sugar to help balance out the flavors. If you’d like, you can make your tea without the sugar. Then you can give it a taste and add some sugar to it.
How do I make this keto ginger turmeric tea?
It really couldn’t be much easier to make this amazing tea. If you can boil water, you can make this tea!😊It isn’t necessary to peel either your ginger or turmeric root. You simply chop both your ginger and turmeric root into pieces. Add them to your water and bring to a boil over high heat. When your water comes to a boil, you’ll want to decrease the temperature so your water simmers. I let mine simmer between medium and medium high heat for 10 minutes. Then use a fine mesh sieve to strain your tea. This is the easiest way to remove the pieces of root from your tea. At this point, you’re all ready to serve your tea. If you’d like, you can also refrigerate your tea until chilled and serve it cold. Or you can let it cool to room temperature and add some ice to it.
Is there anything else I can add to my keto ginger turmeric tea?
There are quite a few things you can add to your tea if you’d like. If you want your tea sweeter, you can add more keto sugar to it. If you’d like a little tartness, you can add some lemon or lime juice. For a pretty presentation, you can also slice a lemon or lime and add a slice to your tea. Cinnamon also works nicely with this tea. If you add powdered cinnamon, you can add it directly to your water and boil it with the other ingredients. I like to add a cinnamon stick to a cup of prepared tea. Another ingredient you can add to your tea is heavy whipping cream. This adds a bit of richness to the tea and is, of course, a personal preference. If you’d like, you could even add a little coconut oil to your tea.

Helpful Hints:
*I recommend using fresh ginger and turmeric root for this tea. If you use powdered, you’ll want to use 2 teaspoons of powdered in place of the 2 inches of fresh root.
*You can serve this tea hot or cold.
