This easy keto coleslaw is amazingly creamy and delicious! This is an awesome coleslaw dish that will be a huge hit every time you serve it!
It’s great to have a go-to coleslaw recipe, and this easy keto coleslaw is my go-to! You’ll be amazed at in just 10 minutes and with just a handful of ingredients, how delectably delicious this quick and easy coleslaw is. I like to allow this dish to chill for 30-60 minutes before serving; but you can also make it ahead of time and chill it overnight. I hope you and your family will enjoy this salad as much as we do!
What kind of coleslaw mix should I use for this dish?
You can use a pre-made mix or you can make your own coleslaw mix for this dish. I love to go homemade for most things, and I sometimes shred or chop my own cabbage to make coleslaw. When you make your own, you can choose the exact amounts of green and purple coleslaw you use. You can also choose whether to add some grated carrots or to leave them out. As a general rule, because of their carb count, I don’t use carrots in recipes. But coleslaw mixes add very few carrots, and their carb count is low. So, these mixes are one of my exceptions to the rule. It’s also a quick and easy option to use coleslaw mixes. You will want to make sure you buy a plain mix and not one with dressing, as most dressings aren’t keto.
How do I make the dressing for this easy keto coleslaw?
Since we’re making our own dressing, we keep it low carb and keto, while making it extremely creamy and flavorful. We start with a creamy base combination of keto mayonnaise and sour cream. Yum! To this, we add apple cider vinegar, keto granulated sugar, celery seed, salt, and pepper. For my sugar, I used the Swerve brand. It contains zero calories and zero net carbs. It’s also delicious and tastes just like regular sugar! I recommend giving your dressing a taste and then adjust ingredients if you’d like. If you’d like a little more tang, you can add more apple cider vinegar or a little fresh lemon juice. You can also add more salt and pepper. Another fun option is to add some Dijon or yellow mustard if you’d like to add a mustard element to your dressing!
How can I serve this easy keto coleslaw?
This coleslaw goes well with any number of keto dishes! It pairs perfectly with pulled pork or pulled chicken. It will be a huge hit with any kind of meats, including beef, chicken, pork, and seafood. You can add this side with anything from burgers and lettuce wraps to steaks and fancy seafood dishes! Bring this to your next potluck, party, or family get together and get ready for the recipe requests!😊Any time you want an extra special side dish salad, this coleslaw will satisfy!
