This decadent keto hot fudge sauce comes together in just 20 minutes and will impress every time you serve it! If you don’t tell them, no one will ever guess it’s also low carb!
My husband loves ice cream with chocolate sauce, so I made this keto hot fudge sauce for him. He loved it and I’m so excited to share it with you! This is a rich and incredibly delicious sauce which is also keto and low carb! Enjoy!
Let’s talk about the ingredients in our sauce!
We start our sauce with combining butter and keto dark chocolate chips. I used the Bake Believe brand of chocolate chips. You can substitute with Lily’s or with your favorite chips if you’d prefer. We then add heavy whipping cream and unsweetened almond milk. This combination helps to create the perfect texture and creaminess for this sauce. For sweetener, we add keto powdered sugar. I used the Swerve brand. It contains zero calories and zero net carbs, and it is delicious! To create the perfect chocolate flavor, we add unsweetened cocoa powder. Our secret ingredient is espresso powder. The espresso powder creates a deeper chocolate flavor for our sauce. If you can’t find it, you can omit the espresso powder and your sauce will still be amazingly delicious! A little salt and vanilla round out the flavors in our sauce.
How do I make this keto hot fudge sauce?
This sauce is a fun and easy sauce to make. You’ll first melt your butter and chocolate chips together in a saucepan and whisk until the chips are completely melted. Then add in the heavy whipping cream and unsweetened almond milk. Give the mixture a quick whisk to combine before adding you keto powdered sugar, cocoa powder, espresso powder, and salt. I sift my cocoa powder to help ensure my sauce doesn’t end up with lumps. You’ll cook the sauce, over medium heat, and whisk it frequently until it is completely smooth and heated through. This takes about 10 minutes. Then remove your sauce from the heat before adding your vanilla at the very end. An important thing to know about this sauce is that it will harden a bit and may crystallize when refrigerated. So you’ll want to either microwave it or heat it on the stove before serving.
What are some ways I can serve this keto fudge sauce?
This sauce is the perfect sauce to top your favorite keto ice cream with! If you’d like, you can then top it with some homemade keto whipped cream. To make this, you’ll want to chill a bowl and beaters in the freezer for 15-20 minutes. To your chilled bowl, add 1 cup of heavy whipping cream, 2 tablespoons of keto powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Then beat until stiff peaks form. You can easily double this recipe as well. This chocolate sauce is also an awesome topping for keto chaffles, pancakes, or waffles. Another fun use for this sauce, is to pour some over keto brownies, cakes, or even cheesecakes. Yum!
