You can have this scrumptious and filling keto pork and cabbage skillet on your table in just 45 minutes. Although sometimes it’s fun to make big meals which take hours to make; there are so many times when a quick and easy one pan meal is the perfect answer for the day! My family loves this dish and I hope you will as well!
Let’s talk about the pork in this keto pork and cabbage skillet!
For this dish, we’re using boneless pork chops. Boneless pork chops are a lean cut of meat. They are so easy to work with when making skillets and stir-fry dishes and they come out juicy and tender. If you’d prefer, you could also use a pork tenderloin for this dish. I cut my pork chops into bite size pieces. You can cut yours into larger pieces if you’d like. If you’d prefer, you can even cut your pork into thin strips. The most important thing when cooking the pork is to not overcook it. This will ensure your pork will be incredibly tender and juicy! If you don’t want to use pork, you can always substitute boneless chicken breasts or thighs for your dish!
What other ingredients go into this skillet?
We add some diced onions and a couple minced garlic cloves to add both taste and texture to our dish. Fresh ginger is one of the stars of this dish and provides amazing flavor. We add some butter for additional richness. For our sauce, we use an awesome combination of ingredients which results in the perfect balance of salty, sweet, and zesty flavors. The sauce consists of apple cider vinegar, keto brown sugar, Dijon mustard, tamari, smoked paprika, and caraway seeds. Yum!😊I used the Swerve brand of sugar as it contains zero calories and zero net carbs; and it’s delicious! I use tamari to keep this dish gluten free. You could substitute coconut aminos if you’d like. The last two ingredients in our dish are green cabbage and a little chicken broth. You can either roughly chop your cabbage or you can thinly slice it.
What can I serve with this keto pork and cabbage skillet?
This is a filling dish and makes for a complete meal in itself! I find sprinkling a little smoked paprika over the top makes for a pretty presentation. You can always serve a keto salad with this dish. Another option is to serve this with a side of cauliflower rice or with a side of cooked or roasted vegetables. A fun idea is to serve a few appetizers and add this as the main dish. You could even serve this dish and end your meal with a nice keto dessert!
