When you want an awesome new spin on tuna, this keto fresh dill and chive tuna salad is the perfect answer! We combine tuna with a creamy delicious dressing, including fresh herbs, to make a memorable dish! This makes for a great lunch or dinner option!
Let’s talk about the ingredients in our tuna salad!
You can use either regular tuna or albacore tuna for your tuna salad. Albacore tuna is lighter in color, firmer in texture, and has a milder taste than regular tuna. I usually have both in my pantry! Both are good sources of protein and are low in fat. Since we’re adding a creamy dressing to our salad, I prefer to use tuna packed in water. If you’d like, you can use tuna packed in oil, but you may want to slightly decrease the amount of mayonnaise you add to your dressing. To our tuna, we add a little diced celery and onion. This gives our tuna salad a nice crunchy element and great flavor. If you’d like, you can add more diced celery and onion to your tuna salad.
What ingredients go into the dressing for this keto fresh dill and chive tuna salad?
The dressing for this tuna salad is creamy, fresh, and amazingly flavorful. We combine keto mayonnaise and sour cream for our dressing. This gives our dressing just a slight tangy taste and gives it awesome creaminess. If you’d rather, you can use all mayonnaise and add a little fresh lemon juice to your dressing. We then add chopped fresh chives and dill to our dressing. Yum! The fresh herbs bring incredible flavor to our dressing and add texture to it as well. If you haven’t seen one yet, you might want to check out one of my favorite kitchen utensils, herb scissors. They save time and chop herbs perfectly! I also think they’re quite adorable!😊Dijon mustard brings another nice pop of flavor to our dressing. The only other ingredients needed for our dressing are salt and pepper. I recommend you taste your dressing and add more salt if you’d like.

Helpful Hints:
*You can add more diced celery and onions to your salad if you’d like.
