This homemade keto Italian dressing is zesty and incredibly flavorful. This is an awesome go-to dressing that also works great as a marinade.
It’s so much fun to make your own dressings, and this homemade keto Italian dressing is amazingly delicious and so easy to make. It only takes 10 minutes to make this dressing, and you likely have most of the necessary ingredients for it in your pantry. This is our go-to Italian dressing and I hope you’ll love it as much as we do!
Let’s talk about the ingredients in our keto Italian dressing!
We start with a combination of olive oil and white wine vinegar. The standard in vinaigrettes is a ratio of 3:1, which means you use 3 parts oil to 1 part vinegar. I don’t always follow this rule, but for this dressing, I have found this ratio to be perfect. To our oil and vinegar, we add Dijon mustard and finely grated Parmesan cheese. The cheese is what makes this dressing truly amazing, and I recommend adding it to your dressing. I recommend grating your own cheese and finely grating it using one of the smallest holes of your grater. We then add basil, keto sugar, oregano, parsley, garlic and onion powder, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes which bring amazing flavors to our Italian dressing. For my sugar, I used the Swerve brand sugar as it contains zero calories and zero net carbs, and it’s also delicious.
Is this homemade keto Italian dressing difficult to make?
This is an incredibly quick and easy dressing, but there are some helpful things you’ll want to know about making it. First, I recommend using high-quality olive oil and white wine vinegar for this dressing. This doesn’t have to mean you have to use expensive ones. I like the Kirkland brand of extra virgin olive oil and love the vinegars from the Napa Valley brand. For many of my homemade dressings and vinaigrettes, I like to add all the ingredients to a mason jar and shake until incorporated. But for this dressing, since we’re using grated Parmesan cheese, I recommend using a blender. This will help to ensure that your cheese gets perfectly blended in your dressing. If you use a mason jar or whisk your dressing in a bowl, just know the cheese may settle more at the bottom instead of getting evenly incorporated in the dressing.
How can I serve this homemade keto Italian dressing?
You have some amazing ways to serve this keto Italian dressing. It makes for an awesome salad dressing for your favorite lettuce or spinach salads. You can use this dressing to make other salads such as broccoli cauliflower salad or cucumber tomato salad, just to name a couple. This dressing is also great to toss with some vegetables before grilling or roasting them. Another super way to use this dressing is as a marinade for meats, including beef, chicken, pork, seafood, or turkey. You can also use this dressing to drizzle over vegetables or to add to any dishes which call for Italian dressing.
