When you want a rich, decadent, creamy, and fruity treat, this keto raspberry almond cheesecake smoothie will always satisfy! Enjoy!
I love making smoothies for my family and this keto raspberry almond cheesecake smoothie was a big hit at my house. This smoothie is amazingly rich and amazingly delicious. It makes for a great keto breakfast, snack, or even dessert option!
Let’s talk about cream cheese!
I love cream cheese! It’s an awesome keto food choice which can be used in both savory and sweet dishes. What exactly is cream cheese? It’s a fresh cheese and is made from milk and cream. A distinguishing feature of cream cheese is that it must contain at least 33% milk fat to be labeled cream cheese. Cream cheese is comparable in both its flavor and texture to mascarpone cheese. The flavor of cream cheese is a nice combination of sweet and tangy flavors. Cream cheese is naturally low carb and a good source of healthy fats, so it’s a great food to incorporate in a low carb and keto plan. For this smoothie, you’ll want to allow your cream cheese to come to room temperature and cube it to help ensure it mixes evenly into the smoothie.
What other ingredients go into this keto raspberry almond cheesecake smoothie?
To our cream cheese, we add unsweetened almond milk and heavy whipping cream. This gives our smoothie incredible richness while keeping the carb count down. The only fruit I add to this smoothie is raspberries. You can use fresh or frozen raspberries. The carb count of raspberries is similar to that of blackberries and strawberries, so you could substitute either fruit or use a combination of those fruits for your smoothie if you’d prefer. We then add keto sugar, almond and vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to our smoothie. I used the Swerve brand sugar for my smoothie. It contains zero calories and zero net carbs and it’s delicious! You can use your favorite keto sugar for your smoothie. If you’d like a more intense almond flavor, you could add 1 teaspoon of almond extract and omit the vanilla altogether.
How can I serve this keto raspberry almond cheesecake smoothie?
This smoothie is rich and creamy, and can be served for a breakfast, snack, or dessert option. My husband loves my smoothies, so I’m always trying new smoothie flavor combinations for him. He often has a smoothie for breakfast before he heads off to work. A great option for this smoothie is to serve it with homemade keto whipped cream. Making your own whipped cream is incredibly easy! You’ll want to chill your mixing bowl and beaters in the freezer for 15-20 minutes before using. Then, to your chilled bowl, add 1 cup of heavy whipping cream with 2 tablespoons of keto powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Beat until stiff peaks form. This means when you remove the beaters, the mixture forms peaks which completely hold their form. You can also easily double this whipped cream recipe, so you’ll always have a sweet treat available when you want one!
