This sausage cream cheese dip is creamy and delicious with just the right amount of heat. It’s sure to be a hit at your next family get together or party. It is pure comfort in a crockpot!
This is my all-time favorite dip. I created this one to be just a little different from the others out there by adding smoky paprika. It gives the dish a gorgeous deep color and incredible fullness of flavor.
One time when my kids were younger, I was making this dip and when they asked me what I was making, I told them, “death row dip.” After some perplexed looks, I told them that if I ever did something terrible, um I mean if I was ever falsely accused and imprisoned (because I would never do anything that bad😉) and was given the choice for my last meal, this dip would definitely be on the menu.
The name has stuck and we now all fondly refer to this as, “death row dip!”
Now, I can’t tell you I’ve never put some of this dip in a bowl and just eaten it with a spoon; but you can easily serve it with a variety of keto foods. You can use cheese whisps, keto veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, celery, radishes, etc.), slices of cheese, or pork rinds.
The recipe, as written, has just a mild to medium spice level. We’re kind of wimpy here in our house! If you want to take the heat level up a notch or two, you can use hot pork sausage, use the “hot” Rotel, or add some of your favorite diced hot peppers to the mix.
I usually make this for parties and making this in the crockpot gives time to cook and bake other things and get prepared for your guests while the crockpot just does its own thing. If you’d rather, you can add the browned meat and the rest of the ingredients to a large saucepan and cook it that way. Just stir it once in a while to incorporate the ingredients and you’ll be good to go!

I made it and it was great! Added 1/2 cup cheddar cheese. Thanks for an easy and delicious keto dish! My non keto husband loved it with tortilla chips. I ate it with celery.

Awesome! I’m so glad you both enjoyed it. I will have to try it next time with the cheese.
