In just 10 minutes, and with just 7 simple ingredients, you can make this awesomely decadent dessert! You can serve this as is or top it with some homemade keto whipped cream to add even more decadence!
Let’s talk about cream cheese!
Cream cheese is a great keto choice. Cream cheese is a soft cheese made from cream or from a combination of milk and cream. It’s a fresh cheese with a nice mild taste. Cream cheese is low in carbs and provides a good source of fat, so it can easily be incorporated into a low carb keto plan. A really great thing about cream cheese is the number of ways it can be used to create amazingly creamy and delicious dishes. It can be served as an ingredient in appetizer dips, both in cold and hot dips. You can also use cream cheese to make some incredibly rich and creamy dressings and sauces. For some sweet options, cream cheese can be added to keto mousses, pancakes, smoothies, waffles, and even desserts such as brownies, cakes, and cookies, just to name a few!
What other ingredients go into our keto cinnamon espresso mousse?
To our cream cheese, we first add keto powdered sugar. I used the Swerve brand for my sugar. It contains zero calories and zero net carbs, and it’s absolutely delicious. We then add espresso.☕ If you’d like, you can substitute strong brewed coffee for the espresso. Just make sure you allow it to cool before adding it to your mousse. Next we add cinnamon, vanilla, and salt to our mousse. Last, we add heavy whipping cream. This brings a light and airy element to our mousse. One of the nice things about this dish is you don’t have to beat the heavy whipping cream before adding it. You simply add it to the other ingredients and beat the mixture until it thickens. This mousse is incredible served as is, but if you’d like, you can top it with some keto whipped cream!
How do I make homemade keto whipped cream to top my keto cinnamon espresso mousse with?
It’s amazingly quick and easy to make your own whipped cream. The result is a rich and creamy whipped cream that is superior in taste and texture to anything else. I recommend you start by chilling your mixing bowl and beaters in the freezer for 15-20 minutes before using. Then, to the chilled bowl, you’ll add 1 cup of heavy whipping cream, 2 tablespoons of keto powdered sugar, and one teaspoon of vanilla. You’ll want to beat your whipped cream until stiff peaks form. You’ll know you’re at this stage when you remove your beaters and they form peaks which completely hold their shape. If you’d like a sweeter whipped cream, you can add more powdered sugar. I love playing around with whipped cream flavors and topped my cinnamon espresso mousse with some keto cinnamon whipped cream!
