This keto dill pickle roll up dip is a fun and delicious dip! We combine the traditional ingredients of dill pickle roll ups to create an amazingly creamy and tasty dip! I hope you’ll enjoy this low carb dip as much as we do!
Let’s talk about our pickles!
I love dill pickles! And while I often buy them, it’s fun and easy to make homemade dill pickles as well! Pickles are cucumbers which have been pickled in a brine solution. Most brines combine a combination of salt, vinegar, herbs, and spices. Depending on the ingredients in your brine, you can make different kinds of pickles including bread and butter pickles, dill pickles, kosher dill pickles, and sweet pickles. For this dip, we’re using dill pickles. Dill pickles have a very distinct dill flavor because of the addition of a good amount of dill added to the brine. All brands vary in taste and texture, so you can use your favorite for this dip. I chopped my pickles into small pieces. You could also chop your pickles into medium sized pieces if you want a chunkier dip!
What other ingredients go into this keto dill pickle roll up dip?
For my ham, I used deli ham because that’s what is used to make dill pickle roll ups. It’s also easy to chop deli ham into thin and even sized pieces. You will want to check the nutrition labels so you can be assured there are no unwanted added ingredients in your ham. You can use Black Forest, regular, or smoked ham for this dip. To create the creamy base for our dip, we combine cream cheese, keto mayonnaise, and sour cream. You’ll want to make sure your cream cheese is softened before using. I used the Chosen Foods brand avocado oil mayonnaise for my mayo, but you can use your favorite brand for your dip. For seasoning, we add dill, garlic powder, and onion powder. I used dried dill. If you use fresh dill, you’ll want to add 1 tablespoon fresh dill in place of the 1 teaspoon dried.
How can I serve this keto dill pickle roll up dip?
You have some awesome low carb options for serving this dip. Raw vegetables always make for great dippers. Some good low carb choices include broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cherry or grape tomatoes, cucumbers, or sliced bell peppers or radishes. Some other great dipper options include sliced cheese or sliced meats such as salami or pepperoni. If you’d like, you could also use cheese whisps, keto crackers or chips, or pork rinds as dippers. Another fun way to serve this dip is to top your burgers, keto sandwiches, or lettuce wraps with a dollop or two of it. You can also serve a side of this dip in place of sour cream with egg dishes including egg casseroles, omelets, quiches, and scrambled eggs.
