Ingredients
- 1½ pounds fresh green beans
- 6 slices bacon, chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons diced onions
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar substitute (Swerve)
- 2 tablespoons tamari
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
Instructions
1. Trim green beans and cut in half. Steam beans until fork tender.
2. While green beans are steaming, in a large skillet add chopped bacon. Cook bacon over medium heat until done to desired crispness. Drain bacon grease. Remove bacon and set aside.
3. In same skillet, add butter and onions. Saute until onions start to soften, 3-4 minutes.
4. Add brown sugar, tamari, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
5. Toss in green beans and bacon. Increase heat to medium high. Cook, stirring frequently, until beans are coated in the sauce and heated through.
