I love appetizer dips, and this bacon cheddar ranch dip is one of our new family favorites! We start with homemade ranch seasoning, then add just a few simple but amazingly delicious ingredients to create this awesome dip. You can serve this for parties, potlucks, holidays, or special occasion meals, or anytime you’d like to make any day extra special!
Let’s talk about our homemade ranch seasoning!
I love making homemade seasoning mixes, and ranch seasoning is one I make often! I use it to make my favorite homemade ranch dressing; but it’s awesome to use for any dish calling for ranch seasoning. You have some awesome reasons for making your own ranch seasoning mix. One of the main reasons is that packaged seasoning mixes often contain unwanted ingredients. Some of the common ones include artificial colors and flavors, maltodextrin, msg, preservatives, and sugar. Another great reason to make homemade seasoning mixes is that you can adjust ingredients and amounts of ingredients to suit your personal taste preferences. It’s also incredibly quick and easy to make your own seasoning mixes. For our ranch seasoning, we combine parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, chives, dill, salt, and pepper. You likely have all of these just waiting in your pantry for you to make this seasoning mix.😊
What other ingredients go into this bacon cheddar ranch dip?
This is an amazingly creamy and flavorful dip which comes together quickly with the addition of just a few simple delicious ingredients. The creamy base for this dip is a combination of cream cheese and sour cream. I recommend using both full fat cream cheese and full fat sour cream. I used cheddar cheese to make my dip, but you can substitute with colby, colby jack, gouda, gruyere, Monterey jack, mozzarella, or even Swiss cheese. Whichever cheese you use, I recommend buying a block of cheese and shredding it yourself. We then add bacon, plenty of bacon. You can use regular or thick cut bacon for this dip. Last, we add some chopped green onions which gives our dip amazing flavor and texture! I use the green and white parts of the green onions to make my dip.
What are some ways I can serve this bacon cheddar ranch dip?
You have some awesome low carb options for serving this dip. It’s a perfect dip to serve with a platter of raw vegetables. Some great low carb options include broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cherry or grape tomatoes, cucumbers, mushrooms, radishes, and sliced bell peppers. You can absolutely add some carrots to your veggie tray. They are a bit higher in carbs, so I just limit the amount I eat. For specifics, one cup of chopped carrots contains approximately 8 net grams of carbs. Some other great keto options to use as dippers include cheese whisps, keto crackers, and pork rinds. Sometimes I’ll even use slices of cheese or meats such as salami and pepperoni as dippers. You can also serve this dip as a delicious topping for burgers, keto sandwiches, and lettuce wraps. You can also top cooked vegetables with this dip, or serve it alongside grilled meats or egg dishes.
