When you want the ultimate in comfort food, this crockpot bacon sausage dip is a perfect choice. This dip is amazingly creamy and amazingly flavorful!
I love making appetizer dips, and this crockpot bacon sausage dip was a huge hit with my family. I made this as part of our fun and relaxed Christmas dinner, and everyone loved it! This is an awesome and delicious dip that will be a huge hit every time you serve it!
Let’s talk about the meats that go into our dip!
I love making hot dips for my family and for parties. I think it’s safe to say, I don’t think I’ve ever met a hot dip I didn’t like. We’re adding both bacon and Italian sausage to this delicious dip; and yes, we are adding a pound of both.😊Both meats will need to be cooked before adding them to the crockpot. You can fry your bacon in a pan on the stovetop or can cook it in the oven, which is what I did. Simply place your bacon in a single layer onto a rimmed baking sheet, place into a cold oven, set the temperature to 375 degrees, and cook until crisp. For the sausage, I used mild Italian sausage. If you’d like a spicier dip, you can use hot Italian sausage. You will want to drain the grease from your sausage before adding the sausage to the crockpot.
What other ingredients go into this crockpot bacon sausage dip?
This is an amazingly creamy and flavorful dip. I made this for our Christmas feast and my entire family loved it! If you don’t tell them, no one will guess that this delicious dip comes together so quickly and easily with just a few simple ingredients. Along with our meats, we combine cream cheese, Ro-Tel diced tomatoes and green chilies, and smoked paprika. Yep, that’s it! I like to quickly cube my cream cheese when adding it to the crockpot so it will melt quicker and evenly into the dip. For the Ro-Tel, I used the original, which has a little kick to it, but is not overpoweringly hot. If you want a milder dip, you can add mild Ro-Tel, and if you’d prefer a hotter dip, you can use the hot version that Ro-Tel makes.
How can I serve this crockpot bacon sausage dip?
You have some awesome low carb options for serving this dip. You can absolutely serve this dip as is in a bowl with a spoon. I love serving this dip with raw vegetables as they make the perfect low carb dippers. Some great options include broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cherry or grape tomatoes, cucumbers, mushrooms, radishes, and sliced bell peppers. You can also use cheese whisps, keto crackers, or pork rinds as dippers. Cheese slices and meats such as pepperoni and salami also make for delicious low carb dippers! If you’d like, you can serve this as a fun topping for burgers, keto sandwiches, and lettuce wraps. Another fun idea is to top some lettuce or spinach with this dip and make a delicious salad with it! This dip reheats well in either the microwave or in a pan on the stove, so it’s a great for leftovers too!
