For easier clean up, I suggest you line your baking pan with aluminum foil. You can use any oven safe wire rack that fits your pan for this recipe. I used a cooling rack that is actually meant to cool cookies on. I choose this because the grates are small. You don’t want your bacon to fall through the grates. That would be terrible!😊I left my bacon in the oven for a full 30 minutes. Ingredients
- ⅓ cup brown sugar substitute (Swerve)
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- 10 slices thick cut bacon
Instructions
1. Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Prepare a large baking pan by lining it with aluminum foil. Set a wire cooling rack over the baking pan. Set aside.
3. In a medium mixing bowl, place brown sugar and pepper. Stir to combine.
4. Place bacon slices into brown sugar mixture. Using your hands, roll bacon in brown sugar mixture until bacon is coated on both sides.
5. Place bacon on wire rack making sure slices don’t overlap. Sprinkle any remaining brown sugar mixture over bacon.
6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until bacon reaches desired crispness.
7. Let bacon cool on wire rack for 5-10 minutes. Then remove bacon and place on parchment paper. Allow to cool completely.
8. Store leftover candied bacon in a covered container in the refrigerator.
