You’ll be amazed at with just a handful of ingredients and in just a few minutes, how amazingly delicious this easy keto veggie dip is! We start with a creamy base of keto mayonnaise and sour cream, then add an awesome homemade seasoning mix to create a great go-to veggie dip!
Why would I want to make my own dips?
There are some great reasons for making your own dips! First, many premade dips and seasoning mixes for dips contain extra ingredients. Some of these include artificial colors and flavors, corn starch, maltodextrin, msg, preservatives, and sugar, just to name a few. These are ingredients that can be avoided when you make your own dips. They can also add to the carb count of your dips. Next, when you make your own dips, you are in control of exactly what goes into them. You can use your favorite brand of keto mayonnaise and sour cream. You could even substitute keto yogurt in place of the sour cream if you’d prefer. Another great reason to make your own dips is that you can adjust the herbs and spices and the amounts of each you add to your dips to perfectly suit your taste preference.
What ingredients go into this easy keto veggie dip?
For this dip, we combine keto mayonnaise and sour cream as our base. When buying mayonnaise, I recommend you read the nutrition labels, so you’ll know exactly what ingredients are in them. Many brands contain oils you may not want, and ingredients such as high fructose corn syrup, modified corn or potato starch, msg, and sugar. I used the Chosen Foods brand avocado oil mayonnaise, but there are other brands, such as Primal Kitchen that make a good keto mayonnaise. To the mayonnaise and sour cream, we add dried parsley, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, paprika, and pepper. Again, you can adjust the herbs and spices you use to make this dip your own! I love dill and will often add extra when I’m making dips and dressings. If you’d like to add a smoky element to your dip, you could substitute smoked paprika for the regular paprika.
How can I serve this easy keto veggie dip?
This is an awesome dip to serve with raw veggies. Some good low carb options include broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cherry or grape tomatoes, cucumbers, mushrooms, or sliced bell peppers or radishes. But you don’t have to stop with using this dip for your raw vegetables! You can serve this dip with pepperoni, salami, or your favorite sausage. Some other fun dipper options include cheese whisps, keto crackers, or pork rinds. This dip also makes a great condiment for burgers, keto sandwiches, or lettuce wraps. You can drizzle a little of this dip over cooked meats and vegetables to make them extra special. If you’d like, you can also use this dip as a salad dressing. If you’d like to thin it out a little, you can add a little heavy whipping cream until it reaches your desired dressing consistency.
