When you want a savory treat, these easy roasted turkey thighs will always satisfy! We coat our turkey with a simple seasoning mix then top each thigh with a pat of butter! This results in moist and juicy turkey thighs with perfectly browned and delicious skin. This dish is perfect for when you’re craving turkey but don’t want to roast a whole turkey.
Let’s talk about our homemade seasoning mix!
It’s so fun and so easy to make homemade seasoning mixes for all kinds of dishes. It’s much more economical to make your own mixes, and you can also adjust ingredients and amounts of ingredients to suit your taste preferences when you make your own. And when you make homemade seasoning mixes, you can be assured there are no extra ingredients often added to packaged mixes that you don’t want. Some of these include artificial colors and flavors, corn starch, corn syrup, dextrose, potato starch, preservatives, and sugar. For these turkey thighs, we combine garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. If you’d like, you can use smoked paprika in place of the regular paprika to add a nice smoky element. If you’d like to add some heat to your turkey thighs, you can add some cayenne or red pepper flakes.
How do I make these easy roasted turkey thighs?
This dish is incredibly easy to make, but there are a few things you can do to ensure yours turn out perfectly. First, you’ll want to spray your baking dish with avocado oil spray. I like to roast my thighs at 350 degrees, as this lower roasting temperature results in incredibly moist and juicy turkey thighs. Next, I like to sprinkle about ⅓ of my seasoning mixture evenly over the bottom of my baking dish. Then I can simply place the turkey, skin side up, into the dish and press the thighs down to season the bottom of the thighs. The remaining seasoning can then be sprinkled evenly over the turkey to perfectly season them. Topping the thighs with butter helps to create an amazingly browned skin which is also amazingly delicious! Last, you’ll want to make sure your turkey is heated to at least 170 degrees.
