Let’s talk about the ingredients in this everything bagel guacamole!
We love avocados and guacamole is one of our favorite dishes to use them in. Avocados are low in carbs and high in fiber. They’re also a wonderful way to incorporate healthy fats into your diet. To our avocados, we add cilantro, diced tomatoes and red onions, and fresh lime juice. We love cilantro, but I understand there are actually some people who don’t.😂If you’re one of those, you can always substitute some fresh parsley in its place. For my tomatoes, I like to use seeded and diced tomatoes. You can save the insides of your tomatoes to use in dishes such as salsas or to add to soups and stews. The addition of the red onion gives our guacamole both flavor and texture. I love the addition of fresh lime juice, but you can use bottled if you’d like.
Is this guacamole spicy?
This is a not a spicy guacamole. For seasoning, we are simply adding everything bagel seasoning and a little chili powder. The ingredients in everything bagel seasoning are black and white sesame seeds, minced dried garlic, minced dried onion, poppy seeds, and salt or sea salt flakes. So, as written, this is a very mild guacamole. If you’d like yours a little spicier, you can add more chili powder. You could also add some red pepper flakes to your guacamole. Another way to increase the spice level in this dip would be to add some diced jalapeno peppers. An important thing to know is that the majority of heat in peppers is contained in the seeds and membranes. So, if you want more heat, add some of these to your dish. Another important thing to know is when handling peppers, you’ll want to wear gloves!
What can I serve with this everything bagel guacamole?
You have some awesome keto and low carb options to serve with this guacamole! I like to use low carb raw vegetables to dip into my guacamole and salsa dishes. Some great choices include broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, mushrooms, and sliced bell peppers and radishes. You can also use cheese whisps or pork rinds as dippers for this guacamole. If you have a favorite keto chip or cracker, that’s also a good option. Another fun idea is to use sliced cheese as a dipper! If you’d like, you can also use this guacamole as a condiment to top your burgers, keto sandwiches, or even egg dishes with!
