This Hatch Green Chile dip comes together in just 15 minutes and is amazingly delicious! Enjoy!
I love making all kinds of dips and this Hatch green chile dip was a huge hit at my house. I made our dip mild, but you can easily adjust the heat level for your taste preference. This dip is perfect for barbecues, parties, potlucks, and any time you want a creamy and tasty appetizer dip!
Let’s talk about the ingredients that go into this dip!
For our creamy base, we add both cream cheese and sour cream. This makes our dip incredibly rich and delicious. You will want to start with softened cream cheese so it will mix easily and smoothly with the other ingredients. We then add both Hatch green chiles and diced red peppers. You can use any color bell pepper for your dip. I wanted to add a little fresh and acidic element to this dip and lime juice was my choice! For seasoning, we add garlic and onion powder, salt, smoked paprika, and a little black pepper. You can give your dip a try and add even more salt if you’d prefer. This dip is incredibly easy to make. You simply add all your ingredients to a large mixing bowl and beat them together until your dip is smooth and all the ingredients are combined!
Can I use any kind of diced green chiles to make this Hatch green chile dip?
Adding green chiles to dishes is an awesome way to add incredible flavor and texture. I’ve roasted my own chiles and it’s incredibly easy to do; but I also love the ease of using canned chiles. Canned green chiles are usually Anaheim chiles. Hatch chiles are chiles from New Mexico, more specifically from the Hatch region of New Mexico. And while these chiles look just like Anaheim chiles, they are typically hotter. When buying your chiles, you can get them mild or hot which will help you to achieve the heat level you’d like for your dip! A good thing to know about peppers is that the majority of their heat is found in their seeds and membranes. So you can remove these if you’d like a milder chile. And yes, you can use regular diced green chiles in place of the Hatch if you’d prefer.
How can I serve this Hatch green chile dip?
You have some awesome low carb options for serving this dip. For dippers, one of our favorite choices is to use raw vegetables. Broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cucumbers, mushrooms, and sliced bell peppers or radishes are all great options. If you’d like, you can serve this dip with cheese whisps, keto crackers, or pork rinds. Another fun idea is to use slices of cheese or meats, such as pepperoni or sliced sausage, as dippers. You can also serve this dip as a topping for burgers, brats, keto sandwiches, or lettuce wraps. It can also be served with keto casseroles or to top chili in place of using sour cream! This dip is perfect to serve for parties or to take to potlucks. It’s also an awesome appetizer choice for holidays and special occasion meals.
