This homemade bacon Gouda ranch dip is amazingly creamy and incredibly flavorful! Enjoy!
We absolutely love this homemade bacon gouda ranch dip! I made it over the holidays and it disappeared quickly! We start with a homemade ranch seasoning mix, which makes this dip even more delicious. I hope you’ll enjoy this dip as much as we do!
Let’s talk about our homemade ranch seasoning mix!
I love making my own seasoning mixes and this ranch seasoning mix is one of my favorites. When you make your own mixes, you’ll know exactly what goes into them. You can also avoid ingredients commonly added to packaged seasoning mixes including artificial colors and flavors, maltodextrin, msg, preservatives, and sugar just to name a few. For this dip, we combine parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, chives, dill, salt, and pepper. I used all dried herbs and spices for my mix. You can also easily double or triple this or can even make a big batch of this seasoning mix. To make a large batch, you’ll want to combine ¾ cup of parsley with ¼ cup of garlic and onion powder, 2 tablespoons of chives and dill, and 1 of tablespoon salt and pepper. You can also use this homemade mix to make homemade ranch dressing or homemade ranch dip.
What other ingredients go into this homemade bacon gouda ranch dip?
This is such an easy dip to throw together, but it’s incredibly creamy and flavorful. I often add a combination of mayonnaise and sour cream when I make dips; but for this dip it’s all sour cream! I recommend using full fat sour cream for your dip. In addition, I also recommend buying a block of cheese and grating it yourself as the texture is much creamier. You can use Gouda or smoked Gouda for this dip. Both are creamy and delicious options! We then add plenty of fried and crumbled bacon. Last, we add liquid smoke to give this dip an awesome smoky element. You can give your dip a taste and add even more if you’d like. I like to top my dip with some additional fried and crumbled bacon and either chopped green onions or fresh chopped chives as it makes for such a pretty presentation.
How can I serve this homemade bacon Gouda ranch dip?
You have so many awesome low carb options for serving this dip! Raw vegetables make especially great dippers. Some of our favorites include broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cherry or grape tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes, and sliced bell peppers. Some other great choices include sliced cheese and meats such as pepperoni or salami. If you’d like, you could also use cheese whisps, keto crackers, or pork rinds for dippers. This dip can also be used as a delicious and unique topping for burgers, keto sandwiches, or lettuce wraps. This is an awesome dip to serve for barbecues and parties, or as an appetizer for holiday or special occasion meals!
