This homemade keto blue cheese dressing is perfectly creamy and tangy. It is one of our all-time favorite dressings! Enjoy!
I love making homemade dressings, dips, and seasoning mixes; and this homemade keto blue cheese dressing is one of my favorites! It works great as a salad dressing, dip, or sauce for a variety of dishes. Once you try this, you’re always going to want homemade!
How do I love blue cheese? Let me count the ways!😊
Blue cheese, otherwise known as bleu cheese, is a variety of cheese that has a distinct color, flavor, and texture. I’ve tried numerous types of blue cheese and find they all have their own unique taste. Some are quite different from others. Some are mild and some are quite strong, even a touch bitter. You’ll find that some types are saltier or smokier than others as well. They also crumble differently as their texture varies as well. Some are creamier and some are more crumbly. My advice to you is to try some different varieties and find the one or ones you like! Blue cheese also varies a bit in their carb count, so I always read my labels carefully. You’ll find that buying blue cheese in wedges rather than pre-crumbled will give you the moistest blue cheese. But either choice works well for this dressing.
What other ingredients go into this homemade keto blue cheese dressing?
We combine keto mayonnaise and sour cream for the base of our dressing. This combination brings awesome flavor and creaminess to this dish. Then we add some fresh lemon juice to add some tang to the dressing. For this dressing, I used dried chives, but you can use fresh if you’d like. If using fresh chives, you’ll want to add 1 tablespoon in place of the 1 teaspoon of dried chives. For our seasonings, the simple addition of garlic powder, salt, and pepper are all that is needed to create the perfect flavor for our dressing. The blue cheese is the star of this dressing and it doesn’t need a lot of help in the flavor department.😉
What are some ways I can serve this homemade keto blue cheese dressing?
You have some awesome ways to incorporate this dressing into some of your favorite dishes. Of course, it works well as a salad dressing for your favorite green salads. But don’t stop there! You can use this as a flavorful dip for your favorite keto veggies. You can also drizzle it over your cooked vegetables as well. It also works great as a dip for a meat and cheese appetizer board. Use this blue cheese dressing in place of mayonnaise to top your favorite keto sandwiches, lettuce wraps, and burgers. We have a debate in our house as to whether ranch or blue cheese is the best for hot wings. I vote blue cheese! Another great way to use this dressing is as a sauce for your favorite chicken, steak, or seafood dishes. And these are just a few of the many ways you can enjoy this dressing!
