This keto bacon ranch dressing is amazingly creamy and amazingly flavorful! You can serve this as a dressing or as a dip.
You’ll take homemade ranch dressing to the next level when you make this keto bacon ranch dressing. We start with homemade ranch seasoning, then add just a few simple but delicious ingredients to make this dressing. And the addition of bacon makes it all the more flavorful! This is one of our new family favorites I think you and your family will love as much as we do!
Let’s talk about our homemade ranch seasoning!
I love making homemade seasonings for a variety of reasons. One of the reasons is that packaged seasoning mixes often contain unwanted ingredients. Some common ones include artificial colors and flavors, maltodextrin, msg, preservatives, and sugar. It’s also incredibly quick and easy to make your own mixes and they’re incredibly delicious. You can also adjust ingredients to your taste preferences when you make your own, including the amount of salt you add! For our ranch seasoning we combine parsley, garlic and onion powder, chives, dill, salt, and pepper. One of the great things about this ranch seasoning is that you likely have all of the ingredients in your pantry! If you’d like, you can easily increase ingredients to make a large batch of ranch seasoning mix. You’ll just want to store your seasoning mixture in an airtight container and keep it in a cool, dry place.
What other ingredients go into this keto bacon ranch dressing?
One of the fun things about this dressing is that we start with making a keto version of buttermilk. We do this by combining heavy whipping cream with a little white vinegar and letting the mixture set for about 5 minutes. I use plain old distilled white vinegar for this. If you’d prefer, you could substitute with an equal amount of lemon juice in place of the vinegar. Then to create our amazingly creamy and flavorful dressing, we combine keto mayonnaise and sour cream. I love the Chosen Foods brand avocado oil mayonnaise, but you can use any keto mayonnaise you’d like, or can use homemade mayonnaise as well. I recommend always using full fat sour cream as it adds the most amazing flavor and creamy texture to dishes. Last, we add bacon. I used regular bacon, but you can absolutely use turkey bacon if you’d prefer.
What are some ways I can serve this keto bacon ranch dressing?
You have some awesome low carb options for serving this dressing. You can serve it as a dressing, dip, or dipping sauce. I love green salads and often chop up some iceberg or romaine lettuce, then serve it with all our favorite salad toppings. Some of our favorite low carb toppings include diced tomatoes, blue cheese or shredded cheese, diced avocados, fried and crumbled bacon, and hard boiled eggs. You can also serve this as a dip for raw veggies. Some great low carb raw vegetable options include broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cherry or grape tomatoes, cucumbers, mushrooms, radishes, and sliced bell peppers. You can also use cheese whisps, keto crackers, pork rinds, cheese slices, or meats such as pepperoni or sliced salami for dippers. One of my all-time favorite foods is homemade keto chicken nuggets, and this dressing can be served alongside them as an amazing dipping sauce.
