When you want a refreshing and delicious cold drink, this keto blueberry lemon iced tea will always satisfy. Enjoy!
This keto blueberry lemon iced tea is a fresh and delicious change up to regular iced tea! Combining a low carb blueberry syrup with unsweetened iced tea makes for an awesome keto drink. My family loves this version of iced tea and I hope you and your family will too!
Let’s talk about the ingredients that go into this keto blueberry lemon iced tea!
We combine fresh blueberries and fresh lemon juice to create a refreshing drink that can be enjoyed any time of the year. I used the Swerve brand of granulated sugar for this drink. It contains zero calories and zero net carbs. It’s also delicious! I added a touch of salt and find this adds to the flavor of the iced tea. For the iced tea, you have numerous options. You can use your favorite prepared unsweetened iced tea. You can also make your own tea if you’d prefer. A simple garnish of lemon slices makes for a pretty presentation!
Do you have any tips for making this keto blueberry lemon iced tea?
This is a fun and easy drink, but there are a few tips I have so yours will turn out perfectly. First, if possible, I recommend using fresh blueberries and fresh lemon juice for this iced tea. Next, when your blueberry mixture is simmering, you’ll want to stir and use a spoon to press the blueberries against the sides of the pan until they all burst open. This will give you the best blueberry flavor. After simmering, you’ll want to strain your blueberry mixture through a fine mesh sieve, pressing out as much juice as you can. I ended up with 1 cup of blueberry juice after discarding the solids from the blueberry mixture. Last, I recommend you taste your blueberry lemon iced tea. If you find it too tart, add a little more unsweetened iced tea. If you’d prefer a tarter flavor, you can add more lemon juice.
How do you make this iced tea delicious and keep it low carb?
This delicious drink comes in at just 4 net grams of carbs per serving. When following a low carb and keto plan, there are many fruits that aren’t allowed. The good news is that, in moderation, there are many varieties of berries that can be included. Blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries are among the lowest carb options. But blueberries can also be incorporated to create some delicious keto recipes. There are numerous options for keto sugars, and my favorite is from the Swerve brand. You can use your favorite keto sugar. Lastly, unsweetened iced tea contains zero calories and zero net carbs. This is an awesome option for a low carb keto drink. Alone, it is delicious. Combining it with our keto blueberry lemon syrup will take your tea to the next level!
