When you want a quick, easy, and amazingly delicious appetizer or snack, these keto brown sugar kielbasa bites are a perfect choice!

I love making appetizers for my family, and these keto brown sugar kielbasa bites makes them all very happy! We combine our kielbasa with just 5 simple sauce ingredients, then bake them to nicely caramelize the sauce. This dish makes an awesome appetizer or snack option, and I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we do!

Let’s talk about our sausage!
You have some great keto options for the kind of sausage you use to make this dish! When buying sausage, I recommend you always read the nutritional labels to ensure there is no added sugar or other ingredients you don’t want. For this dish, you want to make sure, whether you buy ring sausage or sausage links, that it’s fully cooked. Kielbasa and cooked bratwurst are both great options to use for this dish. Most kielbasa is made with a combination of beef and pork and there are quite a few brands that do not add sugar or dextrose to their sausage. If you’d like, you could also use all beef, all pork, chicken, or turkey sausage. If you want to add some heat and spice to this dish, you can use a hot sausage such as hot andouille, Cajun andouille, or hot links.

How do I make the sauce for these keto brown sugar kielbasa bites?
We combine just a few simple but delicious ingredients to make the sauce for this dish. To make our sauce, we combine keto brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, minced onions, and smoked paprika. For the brown sugar, I used the Swerve brand. This sugar contains zero calories and zero net carbs and is amazingly similar in its sweetness level and in its texture to regular brown sugar. I love the addition of apple cider vinegar in this sauce, but you can substitute with white wine vinegar or champagne vinegar if you’d like. You can also use yellow mustard in place of the Dijon, or can use spicy brown mustard if you’d like to add a little spice to your dish. If you’d like to add a smokey element to this dish, you can use smoked paprika in place of the regular paprika.

What are some ways I can serve these keto brown sugar kielbasa bites?
These kielbasa bites are great to serve as an appetizer or as a snack. For parties, I’ll often serve a variety of appetizers before setting out the main dish. Sometimes I’ll make some of our favorite tried and true appetizers, but often I’ll try new ones too. But I make sure to have a combination of different kinds of appetizers including meaty appetizers, dips, and cheese appetizers, just to name a few. I also like to serve salty appetizers with some sweet appetizers often including fruit or chocolate. I especially love charcuterie boards and the combination of cheeses, spreads, olives, and such that make it a delicious and visually appealing way to serve appetizers! These kielbasa bites also make for a delicious and filling snack. They reheat well, so they’re great to make ahead of time. You can reheat them in the microwave or in a saucepan on the stovetop.
