When you want a quick, easy, and amazingly delicious salsa, this keto chipotle blender salsa is an excellent choice. This will be a huge hit every time you serve it!
It only takes 15 minutes to make this awesome keto chipotle blender salsa! We combine fresh ingredients and toss them all in a blender to create this salsa. And you can easily adjust your ingredients and spices to create the perfect spice level for your salsa.
Let’s talk about the ingredients in our salsa!
We use fresh tomatoes for this salsa. I like to use vine ripened tomatoes because they’re so juicy; but plum tomatoes would work great too. To our tomatoes, we add red onion, cilantro, chipotle peppers in sauce, a jalapeno pepper, and 2 garlic cloves. I roughly chop up my ingredients so they’ll blend together easily. If you’d like, you can add more cilantro or garlic to your salsa. To add a little zest, we add fresh lime juice to our salsa. You can also substitute bottled lime juice for the fresh. Chili powder and cumin give our salsa great flavor, and a little keto sugar balances our flavors and cuts the acidity of the tomatoes a bit. Salt and pepper round out the flavors in our salsa. I recommend you give your salsa a taste and add more salt if you’d like.
How can I control the heat level in this keto chipotle blender salsa?
I consider this salsa to have a medium heat level. If you’d like a milder salsa, you can add less jalapeno or less chipotle peppers to your salsa. You can even make half a batch of mild and half a batch of hotter salsa. If you’d like to increase the heat in your salsa, you have a few great options for doing so. Since the majority of heat in the jalapenos is found in the seeds and membranes, you could add some to your salsa as an easy way to up your heat level. You can also add more chipotle peppers to increase the heat. Another thing you can do is to add hotter peppers or even add hot sauce to your salsa. For spices, you can increase the amount of chili powder you use which will increase your heat level. You can also add ground cayenne or red pepper flakes.
How can I serve this keto chipotle blender salsa?
You have a wide variety of low carb options for serving your salsa. For dippers, you can use raw vegetables. Such great choices include broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cucumbers, or sliced bell peppers or radishes. Cheese whisps, keto crackers, and pork rinds also work well used as dippers. I sometimes even use sliced cheese as a dipper choice. You can serve this salsa in place of ketchup to top burgers, keto sandwiches, or lettuce wraps. It’s also delicious served with egg dishes such as omelets, egg casseroles, or scrambled eggs. You can serve this salsa with any kind of cooked meats or vegetables as well! If you add equal parts salsa and sour cream, you’ll find yourself with an awesomely delicious salad dressing! The day after I made this salsa, my husband loved it so much, he used it to make taco meat for his low carb tacos!
