I wanted to make a special treat for my husband’s birthday and this keto chocolate whipped cream dessert was a big hit! I topped it with some homemade keto whipped cream and chocolate shavings to add some extra specials! This is a creamy chocolate lover’s delight!
Let’s talk about the ingredients in our keto chocolate whipped cream dessert!
Our dessert starts with heavy whipping cream. Heavy whipping cream is an awesome keto ingredient since it is relatively low in carbs, and it brings richness and creaminess to any dish! For our sweetener, we are using keto powdered sugar. I used the Swerve brand for my dessert. It contains zero calories and zero net carbs. It’s also delicious! Another wonderful thing about Swerve sugar is that you use the exact same amount as if you were using regular sugar. This is because it is has a similar sweetness level as regular sugar. Unsweetened cocoa powder brings our dessert the perfect chocolate flavor! If you’ve never used espresso powder, I’d encourage you to try it. It adds an amazing rich deep chocolate flavor to our dessert. Vanilla and a pinch of salt perfectly round out this dish!
How can I serve this keto chocolate whipped cream dessert?
This is a rich, creamy, and decadent dessert that can be served in a bowl as is! If you’d like, you can top it with some keto whipped cream or some keto chocolate shavings. If you’d like, you can also use this as a topping for keto cakes, cupcakes, or brownies. For a breakfast option, you could top your waffles or chaffles with some of this whipped cream. Another fun way to serve this is as a dip for berries. You’ll take your keto hot chocolate to a whole new level when you add a spoonful or two of this chocolate whipped topping to it! It’s also a great topping for keto ice cream. When you want a quick and easy sweet treat, this chocolate whipped cream will always satisfy!
How do I make homemade keto whipping cream?
It’s incredibly easy to make your own whipping cream. After I started making it, I couldn’t believe I ever used anything else. For best results, you’ll want to chill your mixing bowl and beaters in the freezer for 15-20 minutes before using. Then to your chilled bowl, add 1 cup of heavy whipping cream, 2 tablespoons of keto powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. You’ll want to beat your mixture until stiff peaks form. This means when you remove the beaters, the mixture forms peaks which completely hold their shape. You can easily double this recipe as well. If you’re feeling adventurous you can also substitute other extracts in place of the vanilla.
