This keto cilantro lime dip is amazingly fresh and zesty! You can serve this as a dip, dressing, or sauce!
You’ll love how many ways you can use this delicious keto cilantro lime dip! It makes for an amazing dip for raw vegetables, but can also be served as a dressing or as a sauce. It’s also a great dish to bring to barbecues and get togethers! And it only takes a few minutes to make, so you can enjoy it any time you’d like!
Let’s talk about the creamy base for our dip!
The base for our dip is a combination of mayonnaise and sour cream. We have a couple favorite Christmas craft fairs we’ve enjoyed going to throughout the years. I always kept a look out for the booth selling my favorite dip mix. Their dips mixes suggested using an equal combination of mayo and sour cream, and I often make my homemade dips like this as well. When you buy mayonnaise, you’ll want to check the nutrition labels to make sure there aren’t any added ingredients or oils you don’t want. I enjoy the Chosen Foods brand avocado oil mayonnaise and used it for this dip. For the sour cream, I recommend using full fat sour cream for both the taste and the fact there are no added ingredients often found in the lower fat sour creams. The combination of mayonnaise and sour cream makes our dip creamy and delicious!
What other ingredients go into this keto cilantro lime dip?
To our sour mayonnaise and sour cream, we add fresh cilantro, lime juice, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. I only used the cilantro leaves for this dip. The stems are edible, so if you’d like, you can save them to use in other dishes such as soups or blender salsas. For the lime juice, I used fresh, but you can also use bottled. You’ll want to add about ¼ cup if you use bottled. Garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper add great flavor to this dip. If you’d rather, you can use some minced garlic in place of the garlic powder. You could even use some grated or finely diced onion instead of using onion powder. I recommend giving your dip a taste and adding more salt or pepper if you’d like.
How can I serve this keto cilantro lime dip?
This is a versatile dip that can be served with all kinds of dishes. As a dip, you can serve it with some low carb raw vegetables. Some great options include broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cherry or grape tomatoes, cucumbers, mushrooms, or sliced bell peppers or radishes. Some other keto options for dippers would be cheese whisps, pork rinds, keto crackers, or sliced cheese or meats such as salami. You can serve this dip as a dressing for your favorite salads and even to make a nice and zesty coleslaw! As a sauce, you can drizzle some on top of your burgers, keto sandwiches, or lettuce wraps. You’ll add some great flavor to any cooked meats when you serve them with some of this dip. You can even drizzle some over your cooked vegetables to give them a fresh pop of flavor.
