This keto cranberry clementine sauce is a festive and absolutely delicious dish that will be a huge hit every time you serve it!
You’ll make any meal extra special when you serve it with this keto cranberry clementine sauce! I love making cranberry sauce at Thanksgiving to serve with my turkey, but this sauce is perfect for all your holiday celebrations! It’s also a great choice to serve with everyday meals and takes only 20 minutes to make!
Let’s talk about our cranberries and clementines!
I love making fresh cranberry sauce and I also love experimenting with different ingredients to make it. My family also loves cranberry sauce, and this variation was a huge hit at our Thanksgiving feast this year. One of our favorite family traditions is making our cranberry sauce the day before Thanksgiving as part of our prep day! We love hearing and watching the cranberries pop as they cook. For this sauce, we combine cranberries with the juice and zest of 2 clementines. Cranberries are a good keto option as one cup contains about 8 net grams of carbs. Clementines are a type of mandarin orange, and the addition of the juice and zest adds amazing flavor to this sauce and pairs well with the tartness of the cranberries. While the sauce cooks, most of the cranberries will pop. You can use a spoon and smash them more if you’d like.
What other ingredients go into this keto cranberry clementine sauce?
To make this sauce, we start by boiling a cup of water with both brown and granulated keto sugar. I used the Swerve brand for both my sugars. Their sugars contain zero calories and zero net carbs and are remarkably similar in their sweetness level to regular sugars. Alternatively, you can use your favorite keto sugars to make your sauce. We then add pumpkin pie spice which adds an amazing warm and comforting flavor. Most pumpkin pie spice mixtures contain a blend of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves. If you’d like, you can use a homemade pumpkin pie spice mixture to make your sauce. Last, we add vanilla which adds amazing flavor to the sauce and also enhances the other flavors in the sauce. I love the flavor that comes with adding a couple of tablespoons of bourbon to this sauce, but that is completely optional!
What are some ways I can serve this keto cranberry clementine sauce?
For many, cranberry sauce is a must have side for Thanksgiving, but this sauce is a perfect side to serve with any holiday meal! It’s also quick and easy to make and can be served with everyday meals to make them extra special as well. As a side, this cranberry sauce pairs nicely with all kinds of meats. I like to serve it not just with my turkey, but with beef, chicken, ham, and other pork dishes and with seafood mains. It’s also a great topping for keto biscuits, chaffles, cornbread, and English muffins. You can also serve it as a topping for keto pancakes and waffles! Another great option is to serve this sauce as a condiment for burgers and brats or for keto sandwiches and lettuce wraps. You can also serve it as a topping for all kinds of keto desserts!
