How can I pick the best avocados?
There are a few ways to make sure you come home from the store with ripe delicious avocados. First, look at the color. Darker avocados will generally be more ripe than lighter colored ones. Second, give your avocados a little squeeze. Hard avocados will not be ripe. If the avocado is extremely mushy, it is likely overripe. The perfect avocado will feel soft but not mushy. My third hint to picking avocados is my go-to confirmation to determine whether an avocado is ripe. After checking the color and feel of the avocado, flick off the stem at the top of the avocado. If the stem doesn’t easy come off, the avocado isn’t yet ripe. If you see brown or very dark green, the avocado is overripe and is a no-go. If you see light green, you’re good to go.🥑
Can I change the spice level of this recipe?
Sure! This is a mild to medium spicy guacamole. If you’d like it spicier, you can add more jalapeno. You could also add some chili powder to knock the spice level up a bit. If you want a very mild guacamole, just leave out the jalapeno.
What can I serve with this keto creamy blt guacamole dip?
There are several keto foods you can use as a dipper for this guacamole. You can use cheese whisps or pork rinds. There are also quite a few vegetables that can be used. Broccoli, cauliflower, celery, and radishes all work well. You can even dip cheese slices in this guacamole and eat it that way!

Helpful Hints:
*You can change the spice level of this dip by adding more jalapenos if you’d like more spice or not using any jalapenos if you want less spice.
*I like to make my guacamole within an hour or so of when I’m going to serve it to keep it from turning brown. If the top turns brown, you can simply stir the dip again.
