Keto dill pickle buttermilk ranch dressing is perfectly creamy and incredibly flavorful! You can serve this as a dressing or as a dip!
This keto dill pickle buttermilk ranch dressing is rich and creamy and has an awesome briny element. We start with a homemade ranch seasoning which really takes this dressing over the top in flavor. You can serve this as a dressing or as a dip or dipping sauce! Enjoy!
Let’s talk about our homemade ranch seasoning!
Our ranch seasoning comes together quickly but is incredibly delicious. You have some great reasons for making your own ranch seasoning. First, packaged seasoning mixes often contain extra unwanted ingredients. Some of the common ones include artificial colors and flavors, maltodextrin, msg, preservatives, and sugar. Next, it’s amazingly quick and easy to make your own seasoning mix. You can also make a larger batch so you’ll have ranch seasoning available whenever you’d like. Last, when you make your own mix, you can adjust ingredients and amounts of ingredients for your taste preference. You can also add additional herbs and spices if you’d like. This ranch seasoning combines parsley, garlic and onion powder, chives, dill, salt, and pepper. I love this dill pickle ranch dressing just as written, but since our pickles and pickle juice are salty, you can omit the salt from the ranch seasoning if you’d like.
What other ingredients go into this keto dill pickle buttermilk ranch dressing?
The creamy base for our dressing is actually a combination of 3 ingredients. First, we make a keto version of buttermilk by combining heavy whipping cream with white vinegar. Using heavy whipping cream helps to keep our carb count low. Then we add keto mayonnaise and sour cream. Yum! When buying mayonnaise, you’ll want to make sure there is no added sugar or oils you don’t want. I always use full fat sour cream as it’s the richest! Then comes our briny element which comes from the addition of both chopped dill pickles and a little dill pickle juice. I finely chopped my pickles for this dressing. If you’d like a chunkier dressing, you can chop yours into larger pieces. Alternately, if you’d like a smoother dressing, you can add all your ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
What are some ways I can serve this keto dill pickle buttermilk ranch dressing?
You have some awesome low carb options for serving this dressing. You can serve it as a dressing or as a dip or dipping sauce! It’s a perfect dressing for green salads. My favorite salads usually start with iceberg or romaine lettuce, but any lettuce or spinach would be delicious as well! I love serving salads with all our favorite toppings, some of which include diced or quartered tomatoes, blue cheese or shredded cheese, crumbled bacon, and hard boiled eggs. As a dip, you can serve this with raw veggies. Some great low carb options include broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cherry or grape tomatoes, cucumbers, mushrooms, radishes, and sliced bell peppers. You can also use cheese whisps, keto crackers, pork rinds, cheese slices, or meats such as pepperoni and salami for dippers. I love making homemade keto chicken nuggets, and this ranch dressing makes for an awesome dipping sauce for them!

Helpful Hints:
*You can serve this dressing immediately, but if time allows, the flavors will meld together nicely if the dressing is refrigerated for an hour or two before serving.
*If your dressing thickens after it’s refrigerated, you can simply add a little heavy whipping cream to thin it out.
