This keto maple glazed ham is amazingly flavorful! It’s a perfect main to make any occasion extra special!

Whether you’re cooking a holiday meal, Sunday dinner, or just want a special everyday meal, this keto maple glazed ham is a perfect choice. We bake our ham, then glaze it during the last 30 minutes of cooking, so prep time is minimal. This is a new family favorite I hope you and your family will love as much as mine does!

Let’s talk about our ham!
For this dish, we’re using a bone-in and fully cooked ham. You can use a shank or butt cut of ham. Both options are great choices, but the nutritional content will differ in the amount of both the fat and protein depending on which you use. A shank ham contains approximately the same amount of fat and protein per serving, while a butt portion contains twice as much protein as it does fat. Most hams are cured with salt and sugar. The sugar may be listed as dextrose. The amount of sugar added is usually minimal, but if you want to avoid it completely, you can use an uncured ham. I always recommend reading nutritional labels to check for ingredients and to check the carb count so you’ll know exactly what you’re buying. Since our ham is already cooked, we’re simply slowly warming it in the oven before serving.

How do I make the glaze for this keto maple glazed ham?
The glaze for this ham comes together quickly with just a few simple ingredients, but it is incredibly flavorful! For sweetness, we combine both keto brown sugar and keto maple syrup. Yum! I used Swerve brown sugar as it’s a zero carb and zero calorie sugar substitute which is also incredibly similar in its taste and its sweetness level to regular brown sugar. For the maple syrup, I use Lakanto maple syrup. It’s sweetened with erythritol and monk fruit, and it has a really nice maple flavor. To our sweeteners, we add apple cider vinegar, butter, Dijon mustard, cinnamon, and ground cloves. I especially love the warm flavors that the cinnamon and cloves bring to this glaze. To make our glaze, we simply add all of our glaze ingredients to a saucepan and heat them over medium heat for about 10 minutes, whisking occasionally.

What are some ways I can serve this keto maple glazed ham?
You have some great low carb options for serving this ham. It’s easy enough to serve for everyday meals, yet elegant enough to serve for holiday and special occasion meals. I’m a huge fan of green salads and love to start meals with them. I’ll often chop some iceberg or romaine lettuce, then serve it with some of our favorite toppings. Some of our favorites include bacon, blue cheese crumbles, diced tomatoes, hard boiled eggs, and shredded cheese. You can also serve this ham with a side of keto biscuits, chaffles, cornbread, or English muffins. Another great option is to serve a side of low carb vegetables with this ham. Some great choices include asparagus, broccoli, Brussel sprouts, cauliflower, green beans, and spinach. You can also serve this ham with boiled radishes, cauliflower mac and cheese, or keto stuffing.
