Let’s talk about heavy whipping cream!
Heavy whipping cream, also called heavy cream, is an excellent keto choice. You may also see it simply referred to as HWC. It’s low in carbs and contains a good amount of fat. One cup of heavy whipping cream contains about 6.5 net grams of carbs. Fun fact for the day, in order to be classified as heavy whipping cream, it must contain at least 36% milk fat. Heavy whipping cream adds an airy, rich, and creamy quality to both sweet and savory dishes. For savory dishes, you’ll see it added to casseroles, egg dishes, savory sauces, soups, and stews. I often use it to make mashed cauliflower, mashed kohlrabi, and mashed turnips. For sweet dishes, it can be used to make whipped cream or frosting. It can also be used to make all kinds of desserts including keto brownies, cakes, cheesecakes, cookies, mousse, pudding, and sweet sauces.
What other ingredients go into this keto pumpkin whipped cream?
To make this whipped cream, to our heavy whipping cream, we simply add pumpkin, keto powdered sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla. For the pumpkin, you’ll want to make sure you’re using canned pumpkin labeled as pumpkin puree or 100% pumpkin. But you’ll want to make sure you’re not using the kind labeled pumpkin pie mix as this contains spices with sugar. For my powdered sugar, I used the Swerve brand as it contains zero calories and zero net carbs. It’s also delicious and impressively similar in its sweetness level to regular sugar. We then add pumpkin pie spice and vanilla to perfectly round out our flavors. You can give your pumpkin whipped cream a taste and add even more keto powdered sugar if you’d like.

You have some amazing low carb options for serving this pumpkin whipped cream! It’s a delicious sweet treat that is awesome served as is for a sweet snack or dessert option.
