Let’s talk about strawberries!
When following a low carb keto plan, many fruits cannot be included because of their carb counts. The great news is that most berries are relatively low in carbs, and when consumed in moderation, are a wonderful keto choice. One cup of strawberries contains only 7-8 net grams of carbs. For comparison, one cup of blackberries contains about 6 net grams of carbs and one cup of raspberries comes in at approximately 7 net grams. Blueberries are quite a bit higher as one cup contains about 17-18 net grams of carbs. Strawberries are a low-calorie food that provide us with a source of fiber, folate, magnesium, manganese, potassium, and vitamins A and C. Strawberries are delicious eaten raw, just as they are, or sliced and used to top keto desserts. They can also be cooked or roasted and used in jams, jellies, and sauces.
What other ingredients go into this keto strawberry cheesecake dip?
While our strawberries are the star of the show, they do need some help to make them into this awesome strawberry cheesecake dip!😊The creamy base for our dip is cream cheese. For the best results, you’ll want to start with softened cream cheese. For my sugar, I used the Swerve brand powdered sugar for my dip. It contains zero calories and zero net carbs. It’s also delicious and quite similar in its sweetness level to regular sugar. A little vanilla, ground cinnamon, and salt give this dip amazing flavor and enhances the other flavors in the dip. To give our dip the perfect texture and richness, we add heavy whipping cream. When added to the other ingredients, it whips up and helps to create an amazing light and airy texture for our dip!
