You’ll be taken back to your childhood when you try this keto strawberry milk! And if you’ve never tried strawberry milk, get ready for an amazing treat!
I made this keto strawberry milk yesterday and already had to make another batch today! This is a rich and creamy drink with the perfect amount of strawberry flavor, and it only takes 5 minutes to make. It’s a great drink to make ahead of time, then you’ll have a sweet treat whenever you’d like!
Let’s talk about our strawberries!
While most fruits are high in carbs and don’t fit into a keto plan, the awesome news is that most berries, when eaten in moderation, are a wonderful keto choice. This is absolutely true for strawberries. One cup of strawberries contains 7-8 net grams of carbs. Another great thing about strawberries is the number of ways you can incorporate them into your day. They can be eaten raw just as they are, or can be added to smoothies, cheesecake salads, or as toppings for other desserts. You can also cook strawberries to make jams, jellies, and sauces. For this milk, I used frozen strawberries so the milk would be extra cold and could be served right away. You can use fresh strawberries. You’ll either want to refrigerate your strawberry milk until it’s cold or you can add some ice to your blender when making this milk and serve it immediately.
What other ingredients go into this keto strawberry milk?
To our strawberries, we add unsweetened almond milk, heavy whipping cream, keto sugar, and vanilla. When buying almond milk, you’ll want to make sure it’s unsweetened to keep the carb count down. If you’d like, you could substitute with unsweetened coconut milk. If so, you’ll want to use the kind in a carton and not the kind in a can. The heavy whipping cream brings amazing richness and creaminess to our strawberry milk. It also thickens up this milk. I used the Swerve brand for my sugar. It contains zero calories and zero net carbs. It’s also delicious and quite similar in its sweetness level to regular sugar. A little vanilla rounds out the flavor of our strawberry milk perfectly.
How do I make this keto strawberry milk?
This strawberry milk is ridiculously quick and easy to make!😊Since we’re using a blender to make it, there’s no need to strain the seeds which saves a bit of time. If you have some very small seeds in your milk, you can always do a quick strain; but we didn’t find this necessary. One of the important things to know about this drink is that, unless you have a super-sized blender, it won’t all fit into your blender. There’s an easy fix for this. You’ll want to add 2 cups of unsweetened almond milk with all the other ingredients in the blender. After blending until smooth, you can then pour the strawberry milk into a serving pitcher. Then simply add the remaining 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk and stir to combine. You can then give your strawberry milk a taste and add even more sugar if you’d like.
