This keto tangy mustard coleslaw will make the perfect addition to your next barbecue, party, or get together. It pairs well with anything from pulled pork to burgers! Enjoy!
I love making fun variations of coleslaw, and this keto tangy mustard coleslaw is one of my favorites. This is a creamy coleslaw with an awesome balance of tangy and mustardy flavors. This is a great side for everyday meals and is the perfect dish to bring to a party or potluck.
Let’s talk about our coleslaw mix!
I love to make most everything homemade, and there are times when I chop or shred up my own cabbage to make coleslaw. However, I think most coleslaw mixes are pretty tasty and I love the convenience of them. Most coleslaw mixes contain green and red cabbage and carrots. I don’t normally add carrots to dishes because of their carb count, but there are so few in coleslaw mixes that I make an exception for them. If you’d rather, you could also use a broccoli coleslaw mix for this dish. You can always choose to shred or chop your own cabbage to make this coleslaw. Then you can choose if you’d like to add a little carrot to your mix or leave it out. You can also then determine the exact amounts of green and red cabbage you add to your slaw.
What ingredients go into the dressing for this keto tangy mustard coleslaw?
The dressing for this coleslaw comes together quickly and is amazingly delicious. The creamy base for our coleslaw is keto mayonnaise. I used the Chosen Brand avocado oil mayonnaise for my coleslaw. When buying mayo, you’ll want to check nutritional labels to make sure there are no added ingredients or oils you don’t want. To our mayonnaise, we add apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, and yellow mustard. I love the combination of Dijon with yellow mustard for this coleslaw, but you could even add some spicy brown mustard for your coleslaw. We then add celery seeds, keto granulated sugar, salt, and pepper. I used the Swerve brand of sugar. It contains zero calories and zero net carbs and it’s delicious. I recommend mixing your dressing with the coleslaw mix, then giving it a taste. You can then add more salt if you’d like.
How can I serve this keto tangy mustard coleslaw?
This coleslaw pairs nicely with any number of dishes. It makes a great side for any cooked or grilled meat including beef, chicken, pork, seafood, and turkey. It’s a great side or topping for keto burgers, brats, lettuce wraps, and sandwiches. Pulled chicken or pulled pork pairs perfectly with this coleslaw. You can serve this coleslaw with keto casseroles too. If you’d like, you could also serve it with a keto soup for a fun soup and salad option. You can even add some keto biscuits, cornbread, or English muffins to your soup and salad meal!
