You’ll take your tuna up a notch when you make this keto tarragon tuna salad! This is a fun, fresh, and delicious dish which is also quick and easy to make!
This keto tarragon tuna salad is a fun twist to an old favorite. Adding fresh tarragon gives this dish an amazing burst of flavor. And to top it off, this tuna salad comes together in just 15 minutes and contains only 1 net gram of carbs per serving!
Let’s talk about tuna!
Tuna is a great keto option. It is a low calorie food which contains zero grams of carbs. It also provides iron, magnesium, potassium, and vitamins B6, B12, and D. Tuna also contains high levels of omega-3 fatty acids and is an excellent source of protein. Sometimes I buy regular tuna and sometimes I buy Albacore. You can use either for this tuna salad. I prefer tuna packed in water and recommend it for this recipe. You will want to drain your tuna well so you won’t end up with a watery tuna salad.😉
What ingredients go into the dressing for this keto tarragon tuna salad?
The creamy base for our dressing comes from a combination of mayonnaise and sour cream. Then for some great crunch and flavor, we add some diced celery and onion. If possible, you’ll want to use fresh tarragon for your salad. If you use dried, you’ll want to use 1 teaspoon of dried tarragon in place of the 1 tablespoon of fresh. I used Dijon mustard for my salad; but you can use yellow or even a spicy brown mustard if you’d prefer. A little salt and pepper complete our dressing. I recommend you taste your salad and add more salt and pepper if you’d like.
How can I serve this keto tarragon tuna salad?
You have some amazing keto options for serving this tuna salad. I can attest to the fact that eating tuna salad, on its own, in a bowl is a great choice! You can also make a great tuna salad sandwich using your favorite keto bread, biscuits, or English muffins. It also makes for an awesome lettuce wrap. Using raw veggies, cheese whisps, or pork rinds, you can even serve this tuna salad as a dip. Another option is to serve this atop some lettuce or spinach and turn it into a salad!
