This low carb deviled ham salad is an awesome way to use your leftover ham. It’s so delicious, you may find yourself serving ham more often so you can make this dish in the days to follow! In just 10 minutes, you can have this salad ready to serve! And coming in at just 1 gram of net carbs per serving, you can have this keto salad as often as you’d like!
Let’s talk about ham!
I had some leftover ham from a bone-in ham I’d made earlier in the week, and that’s what I used for this recipe. There are a couple of methods you can use for preparing your ham for this salad. I used a small food processor to finely mince my ham. This is the traditional consistency for deviled ham. You can chop your ham using a knife if you’d like; but your ham won’t be quite as finely minced using this method. I’ve tried both ways and prefer the ease and consistency of using a food processor!
What ingredients did you use to make the dressing for this deviled ham salad?
The dressing for this deviled ham salad contains just 6 ingredients, but they combine to make an incredibly creamy and delicious salad! We start with keto mayonnaise. I like the Chosen Foods avocado oil mayonnaise, but you can use the keto mayonnaise of your choice. Just make sure you read nutrition labels, so you know exactly what is in your mayo. Many dill relishes are sweetened, so you can either buy unsweetened dill relish or as a substitution, you could add a couple tablespoons of finely chopped dill pickles if you’d like. I love the zing Dijon mustard brings to this salad. Yellow mustard could be used as well. A little garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika bring just the right amount of smoky spice to this salad.
How can I serve this low carb deviled ham salad?
There are numerous ways you can serve this salad while keeping it low carb and keto. You can always serve this simply as is in a bowl! This salad can also be served as an appetizer spread. You can use your favorite keto crackers, cheese crisps, or pork rinds for this. Some vegetables that would work well to serve with this spread include broccoli, cauliflower, celery, and grape tomatoes. You could also make an adorable appetizer by topping some sliced cucumbers with this ham salad. You can serve this atop lettuce or spinach to make a fun salad. This deviled ham salad makes for an awesome sandwich. It can be served in a lettuce wrap or with your favorite keto bread. I like to serve this with my 90 second keto English muffins with some lettuce and tomatoes!
