Why should I make my own ranch seasoning?
There are a few reasons why I make homemade ranch seasoning for my recipes. First, it’s quick and easy to do. Second, it’s delicious. Third, it’s a money saver. And fourth, packaged seasoning mixes often contain extra ingredients such as artificial colors and flavors, maltodextrin, preservatives, sugar, and more. When making your own seasoning, you can know exactly what ingredients are included and can be assured they are all ingredients you want!
Let’s talk about the other ingredients in this low carb ranch guacamole!
I’m really not into bumper stickers; but if I were to have one, it might just say, “I💗avocados!” Avocados are an awesome keto food as they are low carb, contain healthy fats, and are high in fiber, potassium, and vitamins C and K. They are also delicious! It would be a rare day for you to visit my home and not see at least a couple avocados on my kitchen island. I added some diced tomatoes and red onions for color, flavor, and texture. A teaspoon of fresh lime juice adds awesome taste and a little zest to this recipe. You can also use bottled lime juice if you don’t have fresh. After adding the ranch seasoning to your guacamole and mixing it in well, I suggest you give your guacamole a taste. You can add more salt or lime juice if you’d like!
What can I do if I want to add some heat to this low carb ranch guacamole?
This is a mild guacamole recipe, and the ranch seasoning is one of the stars! But if you want yours more on the spicy side, there are some quick and easy ways you can accomplish this. You can add some fresh or canned diced jalapenos to your guacamole to give it a good kick! The addition of some cayenne or chili powder, cumin, or red pepper flakes will also increase the heat of your guacamole. A couple other things you can do to increase the spice level of your guacamole would be to add some of your favorite hot sauce or some raw horseradish sauce!
What can I serve with this guacamole?
There are some great keto options you can use as dippers for this guacamole. You can use your favorite low carb vegetables. Broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and even mushrooms and sliced peppers would be some great choices. Cheese whisps or pork rinds would work perfectly for dippers. You can also use your favorite keto chips or crackers if you’d prefer.
