I don’t think anyone can have too many delicious keto salad recipes! I love salads!💕 I jokingly say I think I can turn anything into a salad! It’s fun to combine different ingredients to make a variety of salads and salad dressings. There are so many keto ingredients that can come together beautifully that you could eat a different salad every day of the year! This low carb keto taco salad takes only 30 minutes to make, but results in a flavorful meal I think you will enjoy and want to add to your recipe collection!
You get a bonus recipe for homemade taco seasoning with this recipe!
This is our family favorite taco seasoning. We are a tad bit wimpy here, so this is a mild seasoning. If you would like yours spicier, you can always add additional chili powder. I also used a medium salsa for the dressing. You can use mild, medium, or hot salsa depending on your preference. You could also top this salad with some jalapenos if you’re wanting even more heat!
What is the best meat for this low carb taco salad?
I used a 93/7 mixture of ground turkey for this salad. These numbers simply mean that there is 93% lean meat and 7% fat in the turkey. This is my favorite mixture. You can use any percentage of ground turkey; just be aware it will change the nutritional information for this recipe. I wouldn’t recommend using a leaner mixture, but if you do, you may need to add a tablespoon or so of oil to your pan when cooking the turkey. You could also use ground beef for this recipe if you’d prefer.
What are some other salad toppings I could add to this recipe?
I used some of our family favorite salad toppings for this low carb taco salad. If you’d prefer, you could use a cheese other than cheddar. I think black olives, green onions, red peppers, and even some cilantro would work well with this salad. If you’d like, you could also use guacamole instead of the diced avocado. And for you spice lovers, jalapenos would be a great option.

*The taco seasoning in this recipe is divided between the taco meat and the dressing. Add 1 tablespoon of the seasoning to the dressing and add the remainder to the meat.
