These oven baked chicken breasts come out amazingly juicy and amazingly flavorful! They’re a family favorite and always a big hit!
I think everyone should have a go-to recipe for oven baked chicken breasts and this is mine! This chicken is perfect served as a main or as a topping for salads. This is a quick and easy dish to prep, and it always turns out perfectly!
Let’s talk about the seasoning for our chicken!
The seasoning mix for this chicken is simple and also simply delicious! We combine garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika to make our mix. One of the great things about making your own seasoning mixes is that you can avoid unwanted ingredients often added to packaged mixes. Some of these include artificial colors and flavors, cornstarch, maltodextrin, msg, preservatives, and sugar. Speaking of sugar, if you’d like to add a touch of sweetness to your mixture, you can add some keto brown sugar to it!😊Another great thing about making your own mix is that you can substitute with different herbs and spices to suite your taste preferences. For your mix, you can add chili powder, cumin, dill, Italian seasoning, oregano, or parsley, just to name a few. If you’d like to add some heat, you could use hot paprika or add cayenne powder or red pepper flakes.
Do you have any tips for making these oven baked chicken breasts?
This baked chicken is extremely easy to make, but there are a few things you can do to ensure yours comes out perfectly! First, I cut my chicken breasts in half horizontally, so each piece is relatively even in thickness. Alternately, you leave your chicken whole and pound it to even thickness. These two options will ensure your chicken pieces will take the same amount of time to cook, and they’ll come out amazingly juicy! You’ll want to brush your chicken pieces evenly with olive oil, which allows the seasoning to completely stick to the chicken. If you’d prefer, you can substitute with melted butter. I like to spray my baking dish with avocado oil spray as an added way to ensure the chicken doesn’t stick to the dish. Last, you’ll want to bake your chicken until it reaches 165 degrees, then let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
What are some ways I can serve these oven baked chicken breasts?
You have some awesome low carb options for serving this chicken. I absolutely love salads, and this chicken is perfect for serving atop a lettuce or spinach salad. Some other great low carb salad toppings include diced tomatoes, fried and crumbled bacon, hard boiled eggs, shredded cheese, and sliced avocadoes. You can also serve this chicken as a main dish. It can be served with a low carb cooked vegetable. Some good options include asparagus, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage dishes, cauliflower, and green beans. You can also serve this chicken with some keto biscuits, chaffles, cornbread, or English muffins. Some other fun sides include cauliflower mac and cheese, cauliflower rice, and keto cornbread and chaffle stuffing. You can also serve this chicken with a side salad. Some great options include coleslaw or a vegetable salad.
