These salt and vinegar chicken thighs are perfectly salty and perfectly vinegary! This chicken turns out amazingly juicy and delicious. The prep time for this dish is just 10 minutes, so you can make it on even your busiest of days. I hope you and your family enjoy this awesome chicken as much as we do!
Let’s talk about our chicken!
Chicken is an awesome keto food choice, but the nutritional values will vary a bit based on which cut of chicken is used. Dark meat includes drumsticks and thighs, and white meat includes chicken breasts and wings. Dark meat contains more calories and fat than light meat and also contains more nutrients, including more iron and zinc. I love bone-in and skin on chicken thighs and that’s what I used to make this dish. This cut of chicken creates an incredibly moist and tender meat with a deep and rich flavor. And then there’s the amazingly delicious skin! Chicken skin adds some calories but also adds a great source of healthy fats! You can use all thighs or a combination of drumsticks and thighs if you’d like. You will want to ensure the temperature of your chicken is at least 165 degrees.
What other ingredients go into these salt and vinegar chicken thighs?
We add just a handful of ingredients to make this dish, but you likely have them all in your pantry and refrigerator. I start by spraying my baking dish with avocado oil spray, but you can use coconut or olive oil if you’d like. Then we combine apple cider vinegar, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and butter to create the perfect salt and vinegar flavored chicken. I love the tart taste of apple cider vinegar and it brings so much flavor to this dish. Combining salt and vinegar creates a wonderful flavor profile so we add a good amount of salt to this dish. The onion and garlic powder add even more flavor to our chicken. You can substitute with garlic and onion salt if you’d prefer. Last, we add some butter to create even more flavor and richness to this dish.
