You’ll get rave reviews every time you serve this vegetable cream cheese spread! It’s packed full of fresh vegetables, and you can make it as chunky or as smooth as you’d like. We absolutely love this cream cheese spread and think you will too!
Let’s talk about our cream cheese!
Cream cheese is rich, creamy, soft, and incredibly versatile. It’s also a wonderful keto food choice. Cream cheese is made from cow’s milk and cream. In order to be classified as cream cheese, it must contain at least 33% milkfat and be within certain parameters in moisture content and ph levels. Taste wise, cream cheese has a mild and tangy flavor with just a hint of sweetness. One of the great things about cream cheese is the numerous ways you can use it. It’s awesome used in both savory and sweet dishes. I love using cream cheese to make dips and sauces, but who doesn’t love a good keto cheesecake! For this spread, you’ll want to cube your cream cheese and allow it to soften before adding the other ingredients to it. To soften my cream cheese, I prefer to simply let it set out at room temperature.
What other ingredients go into this vegetable cream cheese spread?
This spread is jam packed full of delicious vegetables! We combine carrots, celery, green onions, and red peppers to make this veggie spread. I like to roughly dice my veggies, then add them to a food processor and process a few times to cut the vegetables down into very small pieces. Alternately, you can use a knife to finely chop your vegetables, then chop or grate your carrot if you’d like larger pieces for your spread. I used green onions to make my spread, but you can use red or yellow onions if you’d prefer. Since our vegetables give this dip amazing flavor, we add just a few simple seasonings to complete the dish. We combine dried parsley, salt, garlic powder, pepper, and smoked paprika to make the seasoning mix for this spread. You can substitute regular paprika in place of the smoked if you’d like.
What are some ways I can serve this vegetable cream cheese spread?
You have some great low carb options for serving this spread. It’s perfect as an appetizer or snack served with low carb dippers. Serving it with low carb vegetables as dippers is always a super choice. Some good low carb raw veggies include broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cucumbers, mushrooms, radishes, and sliced bell peppers. And although a bit higher in carbs, in moderation, carrots are also a fine choice. I also like to use sliced cheese and meats such as pepperoni and salami as dippers. Cheese whisps, keto crackers, and pork rinds are also excellent choices. This is a perfect spread for keto bagels, chaffles, and English muffins. You can also add some to your scrambled eggs for a delightful change up! You can also use it in place of plain cream cheese to make flavorful cheese balls or to use when making stuffed mushrooms.
